Abiotic Factor Best Base Locations & Why

Wouldn't recommend building in base number 1, you'll be able (and want to) move to a more central location to setup your starter base almost right away. The kitchen near the elevator is a prime location, plenty of space, toilet and water nearby, has a large drawers built in, central to all other areas you need to explore - and it's closeby to base location 2 which is honestly an amazing spot, not just because of the chargers, the zipline, the nightly robot for free CPU's, but mainly for the shutters. Don't feel like fending off the nightly raid? Shutters go up (and stay up with a controller iirc). I don't think the security sector has any base locations worth mentioning, if I were you I'd wait until you enter the Laboratory sector and setting up above the aquarium. Amazing base location, central to everything, easily defendable, can place jump circles down to make it more accessible. Big open area, access to water (becomes important when you unlock water filters), free jailbroken CPU's every night from the robots. Would recommend.

Ya, just need 1 base once you get teleporter you can be fully locked down and just teleport everywhere.

the base you showed at 3:20 that base can be made 100% safe from ANY robots. all you need to do is unlock the overhead door at 2:42 which only requires 1 energy brick. the moment you do that, then it causes the robot to no longer path find into the door where your spinning blade trap is, it instead causes the robot to, every single night, path find through the overhead door you opened with that 1 energy brick. you also need to make sue you do NOT remove the benches where your spinning blade trap is in the locker area. once you do this, then in the base at 3:20 once night time comes just close that "shutter door" each night and your base is 100% robot proof. no idea why this happens, but from my friend and i's testing this indeed works.

My set up is for passive robot farm, so i can do nothing and kill him and loot at my front door :) If you want base 100% all enemy proof you just have to not unlock the back door by lockers, then nothing can open it and you can shut down front.

Huh not bad. My favorite by far is right at the trams, like right at them. Just on the other side though. There is only one way for enemies to path to you and once you work your way to tesla towers you only need one, maybe two for the entire game to save that spot safe. Just one Outlet so you need to use a few power strips. There is a bunch of ways to get in and out though as you get more stuff. Like running across a jump pad will fling you above the tram cars and if they are all parked there then there is zero risk of falling. But there is some building glitches you can use too that's even safer. Despite that I like trying new areas and having storage early on that can't be broken down is quite nice, more so on super hard difficulty. Think I will try the area though I'm not gonna open that backdoor codelock so it's more safer. Also nice place once the Fog rolls in

Ya and i forgot about the zipline up top to. But ya you can lock it down nice if you don't open that back door and portal blocker up, nothing can get in. The lockers are best at start cuz all the guys that portal in can over run you on harder settings fast or you get sloppy and they start breaking storages. I was gonna try the spot you said but its a long run around too and trams are slow and most aren't unlocked until later and by then you can use personal teleporter and set up lots of them.

cafeteria is probably best due to its proximity to the cart retriver. another option would be the kitchen in the office area near the pool you can build a ramp down to warrens office to make a shortcut. should they ever inclement portals or i would use teleporters more often the mirrordimension would be a nice base especially since it seems to connect several places in the future.

Naaa, The quicker access to areas you need it, the zip line down, nice locker system, washroom, can lock down the hole area, if you don't unlock back door then nothing can get in. It really is best for def, and room to build and store stuff and looks nice... Only thing it doesn't have is water and you can bring a load of water coolers and fill those up near by. Later you get portal/fast travel upgrade and you don't have to worry about anything, even a water condenser later on.. Portal spawn blocker and X ray is only thing u have to build. Access to a cart doesn't mater by then cuz you can teleport and make mini bases to teleport to everywhere.

build in the little penthouse gym by the pool, goated spot, you can build a ramp opposite of the big stone one and you can transfer vehicles over it lol.

Its to get the keypad to open door to best best. I have a starting vid to open that door in 1 hour game time. It's such a useful base i had to do a walkthrough starting run to see how long it takes to get it done.

Recently i found out that door shutter now block Leyak from entering your base smh, this wasn't a thing in a patch before canaan cult update

@@bigdaddykarvix43 forgot to mention that Leyak will ignore this shutter door if agroed. Security office is very safe place if you set same placeables to block doors from openning on other side, but in my current save Leyak does spawn inside base on second floor sometimes

If you have workbench upgrade that will stop spawn in a AOE around it, you can always build 2 if 1 is on a side or move to mid of base area.
