I heard this single when I asked my local record shop if there was anything new. He played this and I bought it, went home and played it over and over and over again.

I moved to London in 1984 and saw every gig they played. it was a relief to find bands again after so much electronic stuff, that by then had got tiring. Magic song with about the best lyrics you could wish for. A very Australian story. Grant was taken far too soon. They were a massive inspiration to me in my musical career

Surely one of the best Aussie songs ever. Not great sound but great to see this performed live and nicely selected accompanying video.

A beautiful, bittersweet song about remembering the innocence of a childhood which is now gone... only as too often happens when a song like this gets played live, they are playing it too fast. That kills the inherent melancholy of the song.

I saw this song played at anniversary concert for the anniversary of 16 Lover's Lane in Jan 2018 at the State Theatre in Sydney. Lindy had to have a second go at the song, it apparently is a very complex song to play.
