Finally a reviewer that isnt just an ad for edc backpacks... The brutally honest (while pointing out the underatted features) is mich appreciated!

You can technically add a luggage strap on your own as the lash points on the back panel are perfect for a strip of nylon + g hooks or any rope + carabiner.
@EDG2 ай бұрын
thats very innovative, good suggestion, ill have to try that.

Excellent review! I'd love to see a separate laptop compartment and maybe also a luggage pass-through. And since I'm not a big fan of x-pac it would be cool to see a pure black Cordura version like they did for the Max lately. Would be an instant buy for me since the rest of the pack is already top notch!
@EDG3 күн бұрын
Yea, I wish this was a little larger, especially if they added a separate laptop compartment. But not large enough where it gets close to the max size.
@sashinger52303 күн бұрын
@@EDG Jep, I think a separate tech comp might add 1-2 liters. Or simply go for the Max EDC which is 26 liter. But I like that compact form factor of the Daily for edc.

Love the review. One thing that no review or website has pointed out (that I'd love to know) is if you have a water bottle in the pocket, how many horizontal inches are left within the bag. Obviously the circumference of the water bottle would make a difference. What would be great to know is if you have, lets say, the peak design tech pouch at 9.5" long, would it fit horizontally with a water bottle in place? Or would you need to stand it vertically? Thanks and great review!

@thisbechris - I have a zojirushi bottle (width 2.75") in the pocket and I'm able to put in an Aer slim or travel pouch (width 9") lengthwise and it is not snug at all, I'm sure a bigger bottle and or a wider pouch will fit just fine. If you really wanted to, you could fit a MacBook (width 12.3") inside and it still closes up easily.

Thanks for the review! I’ve heard you can get a 3rd party strap to connect to the attachment loops on the back of the pack to use as a luggage pass through but I haven’t tried it yet.

Does removing the frame sheet affect the bag in any way at all? Like how it stands, or comfort, or weight etc? This is my fav video review of this bag btw!

@@EDGI totally feel the same way but didn’t realize it was about the frame sheet and thought it would break in some way. May I ask if the frame sheet could be put back in? In case I want it back in.
@wilsonlamlyt71383 ай бұрын
@@EDGI touched it, and it was exactly the same thing, making the laptop area kinda curved and a bit rigid on the back. I am considering of taking it out, but it felt impossible to easily take it out and re-add it.
@EDG3 ай бұрын
@@wilsonlamlyt7138 hey, so you touched it and for sure there are two frame sheets? If so, yes I was able to put it back in, but it's not super easy. The important part, is there is a pointier part of the foam and a wider part. make sure when you take the foam, you take notice of the correct orientation. I didn't do this and assumed the foam was perfectly rectangle.. so when I tried to put it back in, I had to kinda guess. But it definitely fits in one way better. I was able to get it in tho, by just forcing it since its foam and it bends. hope that helps. its a great pack!
@wilsonlamlyt71383 ай бұрын
@@EDG thanks for the help! But I’ve mistaken about the two frame sheet thing, I thought what you meant was an internal frame sheet that couldn’t be removed. If the frame sheet you meant was the big piece of sheet that you’ve showcased in the video, then I only felt one of that in the hidden zipper pull at the back of the bag. If you got two of those, then I guess you got a rare one😂

Id like a bag like this, stylish yet not flashy, sternum straps, top quick access pocket, top loader, comfortable, just a nice edc with a fabric that is not loud and obnoxious like that. Thank you very much for the review, you helped me to decide that though is bag is awesome, the fabric will ruin it for me. I hope you could recommend something like this, but with normal fabric.
@EDGАй бұрын
do you like the looks of this bag specifically? If so, check out packs from Wexley like their stem pack. its similar but not X-pac
@xiaoyu88Ай бұрын
@@EDG Thank you so much for your answer. Is it just me or they copy Aer, Able Carry and few others there? Seems very familiar. Your suggestion seems almost spot on, it's just that the Stem is really small, like the Able carry 13. After so much time online searching I thought between the Alpaka Elements Pro which seems way smaller than 26, or the Able Carry which has stupid sternum straps system and a noisy fabric. Can't seem to decide sadly. But thank you again!
@EDGАй бұрын
@@xiaoyu88 Yea, the Wexley does seem like a copy. The Alpaka bag in non-Xpac material seems liek a good fit. Have you owned an X-pac bag before? It's a little annoying and crinkly but not too bad. Aer is ok too, I just always found their stuff too bulky. What would you primarily be using this pack for?
@xiaoyu88Ай бұрын
@@EDG I have not, but I saw how it is handled in videos just enough to understand it is really not for me. I wake up every few years and get a backpack I like, it was the Osprey porter 46, then it was a Kelty redwing 40 which is still great but both my sisters use it. I since then learned how to travel lighter so I thought I'd get an EDC for work and for the rare occasion I go abroad, I can use it for lightweight travel. It will mostly be used as EDC. a 25L ACDP could be perfect, with sliding sternum straps, fleece lined top pocket, non annoying fabric. I thought to get the Daily but I like the features and improvements on the Plus better. I know I am hard with this, but if I spend $200, I'd like to not make compromises. I tend to get stuck on them if I dont like it, and make me less use it, so I better not get one at all. Agree with your note on Aer, I find it bulky and also less aesthetically pleasing. I feel like I went on all of the popular options, and I find flaws with each. Damn :')
@EDGАй бұрын
@@xiaoyu88 no problem with being picky and knowing what you want! I can relate! Have you considered something more travel oriented like Patagonias mini MLC, Cotopaxi Allpa or North face travel bag? Other option if you’re particular on fabric is an evergoods bag, completely top notch. The Lander commuter 25L may also be a fit if you carry tech. Anything from Bellroy? Stubble and Co hybrid backpack , Sympl 25L…. Hopefully one of those options works

@@EDGI use the Bellroy cooler 6L, usually I pack it with one Tupperware, one sandwich and a piece of fruits. You can fit it at the bottom, however then you cannot use the water bottle pocket. What I do is put it on one side, then it fits and water bottle also fits comfortably, ofc I am not a fan of having my food travelling on the side, I usually wrap it extra and test the tupper for spills before putting it in. I got the Max EDC coming because I think it will be better for when I need to pack more, but I still plan to use this one.
