Thanks man...really appreciate your style and knowledge. New to Live but learning to "think like a German engineer" to get the best out of these tools. Cheers!

I can never get the free downloads to work; either via Chrome or Firefox on my PC. I wonder if anyone else has this problem? SO frustrating, because I really appreciate these gifts. I've learned a lot from this channel over the past year or so, the clearest and most straightforward content without any annoying gimmicks or `presenter speak'.

I’ve never cared much for analog to be honest- if I want to use an ableton stock synth I always go right for operator or wavetable. But thanks to this video I think im going to give it another try!

Analog is pretty good, thanks for reminding me!

What I don't like with analog is unison and detune. When enabled the sound changes unpredictably each time Analog is triggered by a midi note. If you add an oscilloscope to the chain you will see the waveform phase and amplitude changes each time a new note is triggered. This occurs even when unison detune is set to 0.... Ableton's response is "Analog is designed to emulate the characteristics of vintage analog synthesizers, including the behavior of free-running oscillators. While we understand that consistent behavior is important for creating music, these variations are inherent to the analog modeling in Analog and are not indicative of a bug or issue with the software. In fact, this has been remarked by our users since Live 8.
@Serge_Era Жыл бұрын
but I noticed a terrible feature - if you move the detune knob at least once in it, the sound will not return to its previous values, even if detune is returned to 0

it's a nice sounding synth but the modulation routing is super rigid (don't really like that lfo 1 and 2 can't be routed differently ). of course you can add external LFO with the live LFO.

It has a design problem. Instead of a matrix like the Wave synth, you can not see what is modulated and what is not. You have to go to each panel to and it starts to make mess in your head.
@bathanhnguyen202 Жыл бұрын
because u can see that thing in a real analog synth. Thats why it's called "analog"
@AlexandreSoma Жыл бұрын
@@bathanhnguyen202 Ok. So that's why is annoying. Doing the same thing digital as in real life is a design issue. Design is to make projects with the tecnology available. In digital world, a matrix is available, the digital tech can offer new possibilities. Not using is a design problem.
@valdir7426 Жыл бұрын
@@bathanhnguyen202 that's a digital synth emulating analog. anything's possible (also analog matrix synth are a thing)

there are not many modulation options. LFO1 goes to osc/filter 1, lfo2 to osc/filter 2; pitch/pwm/cutoff maybe pan and that's all. enveloppes are fixed. that's really my problem with this synth. otherwise it's nice for simple patches
@anhumblemessengerofthelawo3858 Жыл бұрын
It's not a problem (that would be a negative interpretation) as much as particular kind of workflow. That would be a neutral statement.

Problem for me in Ableton is that all the plugins , synths ,efx and so , they all look the boring same Ableton gray ,stuck in the bottom of the screen .very unappealing and uninspiring , but totally dull and annoying looks , no fun
