Awwww homework 😭... I hate homework. Wait... I forgot I love making music 🎶 ☺️ And this corse is teaching me a lot. Thank you, sir. As for the homework, I'd say it's implied. For my homework, I repeat the lesson several times on my own, then try to learn more piano theory. I'd say keep doing what you're doing. Teachers like you aren't common on u- tube. Trofey

I just obtained a mac and ableton after wanting both for years. I can't believe how easy you made everything. It's digestible, easy going, no pressure. You didn't use producer vocabulary, but still got the point across so clear and concise. Thank you for not over-doing it and keeping it all simple. This is literally the blueprint for all beginners everywhere. Building blocks.

This video is PURE GOLD. I’ve watched hours of Ableton ‘beginner’ videos where the presenter doesn’t start by TELLing and SHOWing you clearly how to get a sound out of the app. You doing so here in the language of someone watching with no experience already makes this video worth a thousand times more. On top of being a gifted musician, you're a wonderful teacher. Massive thanks. You’ve just gained a subscriber for life.

Hey Taetro, this is my story, I hope you're sitting comfortably. 50 years ago, I heard Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I was four years old. My love of music was born but I wasn't able to get my first instrument, a saxophone, and start learning until I was 30. Within a year, I was active on the local open mic circuit. I wouldn't say I was particularly musical with it (as in I couldn't play what I heard in my head), I did have two things going for me: I had excellent tone and I had feel. I could do a lot with a few notes. Everyone was always very kind and welcoming, musicians I respected were always wanting to jam with me, probably because I played such a rare instrument on the circuit. In the mid 2000s, I got an Amazon bargain on the Rock Band portable drum kit and Beatles Rock Band. Laugh if you want but within two hours of sitting behind a real drum kit for the first time, I was playing a regular beat well enough to jam for a few minutes without three semi-pro musicians throwing things at me. I also took great satisfaction that none of these talented guys could make my sax sound anything like a cat being strangled. I then I had to give it all up, 18 years ago. Physical issues. I gave my alto sax to a friend, it needed money spent on it, and he's been there for me in dark times., so I was glad to do something nice for him. But I kept my tenor sax. And I kept my Yamaha WX-5 MIDI wind controller with tone generator. I never gave up the dream. Then about a month ago, KZbin recommended me a videos on how to use GarageBand. I have an iPad, off down a rabbit hole I went, getting really excited that I might be able to make music again, in a way that's compatible with my physical issues. It was being interested in an Orba 2 that lead me to you, you did wonders with it. I opted for a Chorda in the end, which I started return of the next day. You've also done videos of equipment that I didn't understand (but wanted to learn) or equipment I was considering. I ended up buying a BeatStep Pro, which lead me to getting an Ableton Lite licence. I remembered that you use Ableton, so here I am, ready and eager to learn, with a Novation Circuit Tracks arriving tomorrow (need those knobs! Amazon UK deal, a third off of retail). People like you have been such a resource for knowledge, advice and inspiration. And reassurance. It's scary you know. Give me a chinagraph pencil and a razor blade and I'll chop you some beats, but show me a DAW and I'm out the door. But it's ok, I'm not so scared now that you're here to hold my hand while I learn to walk. One day I will fly. Thank you.

i have been using your videos to teach my 7 year old daughter ableton... very concise and thorough. she likes the way you speak calmly and explain things clearly. You make it very digestible by breaking it into small, simple steps. I'm so grateful for you dude, now I'm all psyched again!

This is what I needed. I bought Live 11 suite just before my student discount ran out and I doubt I've even scratched the surface of its capabilities. One of my friends is a music producer and works on scores for big movies, but now transitioned to hiphop and I challenged him to use standard plugins only and he was surprised how good most base stuff (glue compressor, eq eight, hybrid reverb etc.) actually are and how great most built in sounds are. I mean, at $700 you'd kinda expect that.

I bought Ableton a very long time ago now. maybe 20 years. and it was always too overwhelming to get any feel for it. i wanted to make music but where to start and how to even ask my first questions. because your video is literally holding my hand to such a basic degree its made it all so approachable. this is the furthest I've gotten with making my own track ever. even though its just the bongy basic one we have done in this video. thank you man.
