Def worth waiting to see what Apple's Fall lineup looks like-if you don't go with the M1X you'll probably be able to snag a regular M1 for cheaper after M1X is released!

@@freshlysunlit I'd be surprised if the price would come down to be honest, the m1x will be more flag ship models, Ie. To compliment the Apple range, rather than replace it. Of course though the used market could be flooded with m1s that people want to get shut of in favour on the m1x models.

@@PB72UK That's a good point. The M1 is probably here to stay for awhile, it'll just become to lower end tier when the newer stuff is released. But it's good enough to last for years so it's worth keeping an eye out for used ones!

Highly recommend the M1 for music production / Ableton, even now in 2023, but the price of the M2 is reasonable now. Both are still incredible value. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the official Apple refurbished Mac mini's on Apple's website. www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/mac

Thanks mate! Honestly, I don’t think the 16GB is necessary unless you run a lot of simultaneous apps or do some intensive video editing/animation. The thing is RAM is gotten so much faster since the 2011/2012 era macs that even 8GB is super speedy 💁🏼‍♂️

Yes, it's fantastic for electric guitar! I use digital amp and pedal simulation on Guitar Rig and other plug-ins and they run completely smooth with almost zero latency.
