There is a lot more to rhythm theory then this basic explanation and it's extremely diverse. So, defnenetly have a google around. If you have any drums you can't figure out the placement of just let me know and it will be sorted :)

Hey Lucas, sorry for not getting back earlier. KZbin sometimes does not notify me. For shakers I suggest you record yourself instead. So, get or make yourself a shaker and record it :). It will work much better than tinkering so much with midi velocity

can you imagine the times, when you have to be so dman lucky to meet a person somewhere out there who wantts to explain stuff like that before internet or before sites like youtube? it was veery unlikely to learn stuff like that anytime anyplace. the chances talents can boost and hone their skills today are huge. although youtube is growing into a big pile of waste where u have to find that good rare stuff like this video.

As long as you can somehow program in drums in a 1/16th grid all the same theory applies :).

exactly what I thought but Ableton seems to have much better sounding synths for bass especially...although it is all a WAV file at the end of the day

I'm just using the 909 classic drum kit from ableton itself and a bass sound. The bass sound I have no idea where it's from but you can use any bass sound

Hey K, I would do it the oldschool way and take a pen and paper and write down what you want to do. After, take the manual which is in the help function and write down key words. This way you teach yourself like no bodies business.
