Thank you Ned for some deeper exposé, I must laugh a bit, just clicked through couple of livestreams from guys coming to Push 3 from a 'proper' hardware machines and it was like 'wooooow, it can do a MIDI parameter locks!' and I thought 'oh yeah, since like when have the Push 2 come out?' 😄 For anyone making music and a must for those making and playing music live in Ableton, this is simply such a genius device and I bow to Ableton team for making this the way it is and lucky me to live in a time and space with this thing existing 🙏😃

Wooooow... there are just certain sounds you can only achieve with the MPE. This is encouraging for the usefulness of Push 3. Really wanna get my hands on a Push 3 for the synthesis purposes after this. So many possibilities! And the ability to record some clips/scenes away from the studio... Incredible.

Ned, are familiar with Novation’s Launchpad app? It’s actually a bridge app that got me into Ableton when I barely understood what could be done with Live. If you are not familiar, its an iOS app that gives you six rows of loops and clips and two rows of effects to fill the 8x8 grid. Pressing on the effects lets you add stops, delays, filters, gating, repeats, etc. to their ‘scenes’ or ‘tracks’. What you’ve done here in the momentary fx part of this video is duplicate how that app applies effects to sounds, but-with MPE expression that the little app could never allow. I wonder if I could duplicate that same setup and have the luxury of ‘expression’ with my effects, and perhaps go way beyond! I guess I’m soon joining your Patreon………….

I'm so glad I didnt listen to all the HATERZ, (they almost convinced me:) Made my day seeing a rock \ chick corea \ david weckl \ prog rock performance on this thing. Now Ableton, please dont let me down and send me a buggy unit.....lol..................but really , dont ;) One question, sorry if its stupid, just want to verify the drum pad set you made at the end will fully work in Standalone? Thx Liked & Sub

I believe with better sound quality, we'll be able to enjoy your music even more. Good luck and keep evolving!

it looks like it needs a completely new workflow, but its totally worth it. the control you have and also kind of dont have is such a cool change from the precision you gain by working in a daw. do you recommend it for someone who never owned a standalone device like that?

Immediate minimilist modern horror score. Just read Under The Skin by Michael Faber and then watched film based on it (losely) and this happens to be exact soundscape. I think you'd enjoy both the novel and film. Imagine AFX authored a sci fi novel and then Jonathan Glazer adapted it.

Great video. Does the push 3 standalone count as a computer with regards to the Live licence? I think you can run Live on two computers at the same time... I'm wondering if the push 3 would count as one of those computers? I don't have one to test it.... yet.

I have a push 2 and absolutely love it. I want to upgrade so badly so I don’t need to tether to my laptop. You’re such an inspiration man! Love your stuff. Is the push 3 any brighter than the push 2 when not using wall power? Push 2 is almost impossible to use outside or in a bright room unless plugged in.

You need to open the IO in the drum rack and create a chain then route all of the cells to that chain.

Why bother if you can easily and much faster just move the mouse with the pc. Might have been more interesting if it had 3rd party VST integration. At least from the most popular brands out there. I like the slide pads tho.
