I got my push two. About 6-8months ago. And I am still learning obviously. But I am grateful that more tutorials are coming out. All the time. This instrument is not just easy to learn but one of the most difficult as well because the possibilities are endless and are only limited to your imagination........this is a live hate relationship but. More live. Then anything. I don't go anywhere with out my push 2 it is always with me.no matter what. I hope to be a certified using the push one day so I can teach the next people who want to learn this. And. Not have to worry I am doing something wrong. . But I also am happy to learn what I can whenever I can. Like I said the possibilities are only limited to your imagination. So expand your mind. And your life

Worth watching this whole video just for the "double tap to isolate bars of drum loops" tip. I've accidentally done that so many times and never understood what was happening. It drove me insane. Soooo many Push sequencing videos have never explained that simple feature.

@47:15 about those encoder knobs. The issue is those knobs are sitting on the push surface so you have no further travel. If you put a small ball of paper inside the knob before you place it on the encoder spinal, the base of the knob won’t be resting on the push surface. This should work, or alternatively sand the base of the knob so you have some clearance.
@elkie6320
@elkie6320 2 жыл бұрын
that's not how the touch sensitivity of the Push knobs works. You don't have to push them down, you just touch them - they are capacitive.

If you're starting out on the Push it's a real bad idea to have it in "in-key"-mode. It will just take longer to learn how to play the Push IMO. I come from a piano background and I was having quite some difficulties learning this layout myself, until I put my Push i "Chromatic"-mode. Then it kinda made sense again:) I do understand that the former mode makes it easier, but so does AI. We are not in the music industry because it's easy. We want to express our creativity! Or that's my take on it if that matters to anyone! XD Thanks a lot for sharing your insights with us! It was immensely helpful! Cheers, mate;)

40:28 How do you get rid of the clicking effect at the beginning of every bass hit? When you solo the bass it is quite hearable. I was always wondering. The same happens with side chaining. Thanks in advance and such a nice video! I have learned a lot :)
@silverXnoise
@silverXnoise Жыл бұрын
You probably worked this out by now, but for the sake of other folks who might see this: - Check a few obvious things, like that nothing is clipping, or if you’re using a sample that it isn’t an artifact in the sample itself - If it’s a synth, try adding a few milliseconds to the attack time in the synth’s oscillator - If it’s only present with side chain compression, similar solution, add a few milliseconds to the attack time of the compressor - If it’s a loop, try adding a very short fade in/out on each side of the sample. This can easily be done with volume envelopes, but I think there’s a default macro to do this in Live - If it’s a sonically simple noise (only exists within a narrow band of frequencies) you can apply a notch filter to try and attenuate it, but if it’s sitting within a crucial band or is spread across several bands, this may not work. - If it’s otherwise impossible to remedy in the track, you can probably use a noise reduction plugin to narrowly select and sample the click/artifact and invert its phase so that it’s surgically removed from the mix without affecting the sound otherwise. Hope that helps someone!
