I also agree that Katie decided to portray Lena as someone who pushed away a potential romantic interest. I think Katie decided that the hurt Lena felt was more than a friend and Lena realized she hurt someone she loved

Katy sold that scene where Kara listed what Lena did to her. The looks she made while Kara was talking absolutely killed me. You could see Lena looking so crushed and regretful. Like she can't believe she did that to Kara. When Kara started showing pain, Katy had Lena display pain just from seeing Kara in pain. Awesome scene

People act as tho this is all on Kara and throughout their friendship, Lena was always the perfect friend and person. It's not even realistic. Lying about who you are is a big deal when you're a regular ass person. When people knowing who you are puts them at risk, when you're scared of your loved ones dying on you because you've lost so many damn people already, omitting does seem like a good choice. Kara was definitely wrong to lie for so long but it was NEVER with the intention of hurting Lena. Lena did A LOT of things to purposely hurt Kara and this is what sets them apart and on completely different levels. Intent. It's like killing in self defence and committing first degree murder out of revenge. (extreme but you get what I'm saying.) I'd have a much easier time forgiving a misguided friend who made a big mistake with no intention of hurting me than one who went out of her way to do so.

At no point, up until she found out she had been betrayed, did Lena try to hurt Kara or Supergirl. @@Drummer4President Lena definitely had the right to be upset, problem here is that Lena went too far and crossed lines that weren't meant to be crossed. Kara didn't lie for no reason. Her reasoning wasn't good at all but she thought she was doing the right thing. The basis of Lena's actions was ill intent and that's what I'm trying to get at. There's a HUGE different between a lie about something that isn't even your right to know, ( I think Kara's identity was something that was up to her to choose who to tell but I don't agree with a few things she did regardless of that) compared to purposely trying to hurt somebody as much as you can. Both good and bad people do good and bad things. What distinguishes them is intent and obviously their methods. Lena absolutely had the right to be hurt about the lying, but she did not have the right to hurt Kara as she did and do all the things she did because she was oh so hurt.

I mean Karajan every right to say what she did but she also did hurt Lena more than once though, but as supergirl (season 3). My only problem with Kara saying she only made one mistake is that not only did she keep her identity secret from Lena which is fair enough but she treated Lena differently as Supergirl than she did as Kara which as we saw in the first alternate reality in 5x13 makes Lena question which is the real Kara which I think hurts Lena more than the fact that she kept the secret from her.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Kara made a serious error in judgment by not telling Lena who she was; however, there was absolutely no maliciousness or a desire to inflict pain associated with the deception. Lena lied to and deceived Kara with the malicious intent and a desire to inflict the maximum amount of pain possible. There is no comparison. It’s painful to watch because Lena now knows how lopsided her reaction was and how much she truly hurt Kara and it’s painful because Kara is such a kind soul and she’s torn between wanting to forgive and being so hurt that she’s struggling to.
