My dad is A and my mother is B. My brother is AB. That's all I knew when I was in class 2. My dad told me during my blood type test that since he was A and my mother was B, so I will either end up with A, B or AB(like my brother). But when the results came it was O. I cried for hours and days. Stopped eating. Didn't feel like going to school. I wanted to runaway from my home. I had actually overheard people speaking in the hospital that AB is a royal blood type(my brother was royal). And A or B were also classy but a different type called O was equivalent to crap. When I saw the report with O+ written on it I was devastated. For many years I used to feel ashamed to tell my blood type to anybody. But then I noticed something, my whole family used to get sick during the flu season but I rarely got sick. For thirty years I didn't need to visit the hospital at all.

It is because your parents have the heterozygous type A and B blood - one allele is the A and the other allele is the i - for your dad and in the case of your mom one allele is the B and one is the i. So as long as there are 2 little i's (alleles), then yes you can have a child with Type O blood! This is very common! Type O+ is the most common type of blood and they are the best donors - so there is absolutely nothing wrong with your blood!

If both parents are heterozygous for Rh (Dd), then there is a 25% chance that they can have an Rh-negative child (dd). So there are two scenarios possible: you must have both parents as heterozygous, as you are Rh negative. OR Both your parents are Rh negative, which means that they can only produce Rh negative offspring.

I would double-check the blood tests for you, your wife, and daughters. It is possible for a heterozygous father like you (IBi) to have Type AB children if your wife has Type AB blood, but it is not possible to have a biological child with Type O blood UNLESS the child has Bombay phenotype blood, that "mimics" Type O blood.

Yes this can happen but it is rare. It may either be because of Bombay phenotype Type O or the AB parent may be a chimera. See link: genetics.thetech.org/ask/ask115

With Type O (ii) and Type (AA or Ai) it is not possible to have a child with Type B blood. I suggest a blood test for all 3 to double-check the type.

You either have Type A blood or Type B blood. You would need to do a blood test to find out. If you donate blood, they usually do a free blood type test for you. Here is why: Type O (i i) x Type BB (I-A I-B) = Possibly Type A (I-A i) or Type B (I-B i) So your blood type will be heterozygous
