Fun fact, the Nintendo code is actually in the Contra segment to give more lives, it just only work when you lose all of them. It sorta plays like Abobo himself is raging at the game and using the cheat code himself. Also, you only need to do it up to the BA part, the start select is automated cause, you know, there is no start button on the keyboard. That's probably what tripped Andrew up, he went to press enter or something, and accidentally accept 2 player mode instead of being able to cancel it.

I actually beat the game and by god was it long, I came back to it after getting stuck early as a kid but it took me multiple sessions and I didn't realise you didn't have to start from the very beginning whenever you reopen it. also in the punch out section if you run the timer out mac drops you in a pit of acid I believe

I love this game, I had no idea about the 2 player shit in the Contra level. It’s a shame he gave up right before he lost his last life on Contra too, because it immediately asks for the Konami code before sending you to the Continue? screen. I don’t exactly blame him for not wanting to deal with the rest of the Contra stuff, but I really wanted to see him take down Little Mac himself. If y’all want to see some fanboyish reactions to this game, I recommend Cinemassacre’s playthrough and farfromsubtle’s playthrough.

2:28 is a reference to Goonies II! The music is the Stage 1 theme, an NES remix of Cyndi Lauper's "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough", and the stage layout is from the game's first person sequences. There was a prequel Goonies game, but it wasn't released in America as far as I know, or only saw limited release.

Way back in 2008-2010 is my big exposure to NES and Flash Games but I have no idea about this Flash Game at all. I've played all the NES games recreated in the Flash game I only knew of ABB after Flash died in 2020. I still cannot believe that it was created in Flash, too. There's that unique quality in it. And basically just playing like the original NES games, too.

One time I told a friend about this game while playing River City Girls co op because it reminded me of the first level. It blew his mind when Abobo was a guest boss in that game since he thought Abobo was just from some flash game. He isn't even from the River City series so no idea why he was there.

You get surprised every time you see something good in a flash game because you played so many bad flash games and dont know that in flash, the limit is your imagination.

Oh hey, I remember this game! I remember being a wee lad when this came out, I HAAAAATED this game for killing my favorite characters. I still wince at the gore of my favorite chars, but this does have some genuine charm to it, looking back. Especially seeing that they used flash of all things to replicate the feel of all of these games, like, 1-1. ...glad me and grayfruit are still in the same boat that the gore is a little disturbing, beh.

I played this game when I was a kid, and by that, I mean back in the fourth grade. I had seen blood in various Flash games and animated parodies before that, but there were other parts of my mind that were more innocent. Case in point: I thought the map in the Zelda level was an arrow. Now I know better.

Grayfruit said he was worried this game might expose him as a fake gamer, and guess what? He was right! He wasn't able to beat a game designed to be NES hard. Unfortunate! I beat it as a teen, still proud of myself, honestly! Why was he complaining about the length so much though? I think it's a great length to include as many games as possible while still keeping things fresh with gameplay types. Really solid all the way through!
