So warcrafts old gods are basically reskinned aboleths, what with being older than gods and having an empire before anything else.

Rather, they are both inspired by the same source material, which is the Cthulhu Lovecraft stuff.

Also, this is completely unrelated to the topic, but I felt it was interesting enough to share with the internet. I'm eating bear meat while listening to this

So... question... what were Aboleths doing with all their natural enslavement methods before there were things to enslave?
@KS-PNW4 жыл бұрын
Some sources stated that (at least on Toril) that they were given those powers by the elemental forces, to help in the fight against the gods and their new creations (most other races).

The Aboleth got in the lake by being there since the glacier that formed lake melted away ruining the hollowed out home the Aboleth had created in the glacier and was very comfortable in I might add!!!

I have a question. I am DMing a campaign in which I plan on having an Aboleth, so I have been doing some research on them. In this video somewhere around 6 minutes and 30 seconds you mention that only two races know the origin of Aboleths. One being the gods, but this is contrary to at least two other videos I have watched. in those videos they said that the gods came to at least Toril after the Aboleths where already part of Toril. I'm not saying guys are wrong I just want to know where I would have to look to find this information For myself?

Most sources state that the aboleths preceded the gods.

Can you imagine a history according to the Aboleth? I'm just wondering if they share ancestry with Illithids somehow? The Illithids coming into being in the distant future, and coming back in time.

And this episode is why godless clerics make no sense. The gods didn’t just show up and fought, the gods made clerics and paladins of the enslaved sentient races. No weave until the first Mystra made it for those sentient races to use
