I drove across this bridge in 1968 in my 1966 mustang. I can remember how the boards clacked as you drove across. Yes the boards were just lying down on on a steel rail on the edge. It seemed like you could have picked the boards up. My husband wanted to walk back out on the bridge. No way did I do that. I could drive across but couldn’t walk out on it. Worth seeing. Thanks for the video. 💞

I visited the bridge a few times while I was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs in the early 90's. Let's just say I'm having wonderful flashbacks watching this video. Something about walking on a glorified wooden dock/pier suspended nearly a thousand feet in the air. The swaying adds a nice touch. I'm from Florida, so of course I had a picture taken next to the Florida state flag.

Tony Nagy after you’ve had a fall like I had and have suffered every day since for the past 20+ years then yes, gravity is a natural thing to be scared of unfortunately!! I spent 10 years in the Air Force, flew all over and have even flown in the F-15. Used to go on bridges like this no problem but after the fall, you won’t get me within a mile of this place, lol!! As a matter of fact, my wife and I used to live north of Denver and had been to the Colorado Springs area quite a bit and the closest I got to that pace was the big historical hotel on the side of the mountain, I’ve forgotten the name now but it was beautiful and they had awesome dining!! It’s much safer for me to stay where I don’t feel the surface under me move anymore and it all changed in a fraction of a second!!! Take care and be safe out there!!!
