never been a huge fan of aborted bc i just dont like the old school death metal they made, but this track is refreshing, much closer to the new wave of death metal it reminded me a lot of ingested, already on my playlist

Agreed. I'm a long time fan and if the rest of the record is even close to the quality of this, this might shape up to be Aborted's best album since Global Flatline if not even Goremageddon. It's that good.

I can't lie, this was a slight disappointment. Not that it's bad per se but it contrasts heavily with the "newer" version of Aborted (from Terrorvision to Maniacult) Right off the get-go in the intro, reminded me heavily of the sound and style that Ingested gravitated towards with their Ashes Lie Still album. Seeing that Alex Erian was on guest vocals, I was excited to hear the classic sound of Despised Icon alongside Aborted but was met with what is to be described as a weak attempt at hardcore/nu-metal like vocals instead of the vocals most would know Erian for in his work with Despised Icon. And the breakdown that comes with the introduction of Erian's first vocal bit is equally as confusing... not being overly critical but I think Aborted spent a little too much time touring with these modern "Lorna-Core" deathcore bands the last few years. Yeah, Aborted has implemented breakdowns before etc etc but not as bland as that was. Criticism aside, it's still a decent tune, certain aspects of it break away too far from the formula that Aborted has refined and mastered for years. Nonetheless still excited to see how the next releases go

Spot on. I gotta say as much as I praise this band(I can scream exactly like him except for the 1999 style) I hated when they had guest vocalists ever since archaic( which maybe is my favorite album). Last two albums were kind of disappointment. And now every new song has guest vocals, I don't know what to expect...

@@vasilantonov3561 I didnt mind some of the guest vocals on other records (Carcass's Jeff Walker in Slaughter & Apparatus, Travis Ryan and Jason Keyser in Retrogore, Trevor Strnad's bit in Global Flatline) but most other guest vocals on other albums were eh at best IMO. Might have too much bias since my introductory to Aborted was Goremageddon, Engineering, and Archaic, but the momentum they had starting from Global Flatline up until Retrogore was really good IMO, until Maniacult came around. Now Maniacult is a decent album on its own and some of the tracks are killer, but theres too much oddity going on that reminds me of Strychnine in some places. Ceremonial Ineptitude for instance, good start to the song, first few verses great, but the breakdown-end point of the song is just ????? Completely kills the mood that was set from the beginning. It seems nowadays the new and cool thing for modern brutal death/deathcore bands to do is have guest vocals every other song. I guess if it flows fine and is implemented well then sure all for it. Can only hope the rest of the guest vocal tracks theyve got in store arent like this one...

I appreciate their effort to "evolve" and not repeat themselves but also the black metal aspect doesn't t fit quite. It seems that they have like 3 album circle of style than change it. For example first 3 albums are kinda similar than archaic till strychnine, global till retrogore, and now these last ones. Anyways it s gonna be interesting at least.
