I’ve worked in high risk ob for going on 20 years and she is totally correct. I’ve been wanting to scream this for years. We have never had a situation, even at a trauma hospital, where an abortion was medically necessary. We would deliver the baby alive and do everything we could to save both the mother and the baby.

I worked as an ICU nurse and we did several emergency C-sections to save both mom and baby. The NICU team would be right there to work on the baby while we took care of the mother.

Thousands of Dr.s agree that abortion is never necessary. Most won't speak publicly about it. Then u have abortionists who think a bad hair day is a medically necessary reason.

This woman is outstanding. What an intelligent, balanced doctor, and what an incredible gift to have her speaking for the pro-life movement. Abortion is never necessary, and every human being has a right to life. It’s our job to defend and uphold that reality.

It does seem to me that the only situation where an abortion is medically necessary is when a woman’s water breaks too early. Quite often, the pregnancy has to end in order to prevent sepsis from setting in. As a result, labor is often induced. Now, many people would not consider that an abortion, but medically, it is often classified as one. The problem is state laws are often vague, which makes doctors hesitant to intervene. This places the lives of women in danger. Now, that obviously doesn’t mean elective abortion should be legal, but these laws need to be written more cogently.

Most states with life saving laws define abortion within the bill Georgia, just as an example, defines abortion as intentionally prescribing or performing a procedure in which the unborn baby is killed. I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist of it. Ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, and life saving medical care for the mother is protected and early induction of labor isn't an abortion within the law.

@@Nahnah111Medically, induced labor is often classified as an abortion because it aborts a pregnancy. The reasoning is often not taken into account. The problem is many state laws are vague about what specific circumstances qualify for medical intervention. For example, how ill does a woman have to be before medical intervention is necessary? There is obviously some subjectivity there. This is a problem that the pro-life movement has to deal with, and I say this as someone who is ardently pro-life.

Any abortion for any reason is necessary. If a woman is pregnant and she doesn’t want to be pregnant, an abortion is necessary. The reasons for abortion are not decided by people on the internet , only by the woman seeking an abortion. No woman needs any other reason to get an abortion other than she wants/ needs one. That’s your reality check.
