Halo has always been a big part of my childhood since when I was younger, I had issue to talk with people including my parents. Then when my dad went to live in France for a year (while me still live in Québec) the only way I was able to communicates and get a moment with my dad was through playing halo on pc with him online. I do wish this franchise does rise back since it's very important for my core memories

One thing that def helped me was changing my button layout on my controller. I've always HATED the default layout using the joystick to scope in bc it was really bad for my reaction time. (plus using B to crouch helps too) After i played halo 5 for the first time a couple years ago, I immediately switched to zoom and shoot and never looked back lmao

This is so true of when you hone in a skill, and seek to master it. I came into the sales company where I am currently, not knowing a clue about the product, or the value, but after absorbing information, staying calm under pressure, and countless hours of putting in the time and effort, I now have many people looking to me. Anything you dedicate time, attention, learning, humility, and effort towards, you can became very adept at and constantly improve.

This is the sort of Halo content I've missed within the community so much. It's wholesome as hell and focuses on having fun with this title we have spent large chunks of our lives playing. A lot of people look at those who play video games and just focus on the negatives: the arguing, the overly competitive people, the loud people who yell slurs or verbally dishonour your mother, etc. This brings them to one conclusion- that all of us are like that or are spending too long on a game to be considered useful to anyone and therefore wasting our lives. In my opinion the people they are focusing on absolutely fit that conclusion because, yeah, if you are going to spend your time sitting inside playing games and being negative towards other people just trying to enjoy themselves you ARE wasting your life, but if you are passionate about a game and are as pleasant as this then you could spend all the time you want on a game and it wouldn't be a waste at all.

Thanks for the info Remy. Your videos are something small in my day that I enjoy and look forward to. They keep me updated and engaged with the game, especially during weeks I'm not playing as much. One thing that I know would help me improve is to learn enemy spawns. I know the meta, the good weapon combos, the weapon spawns and I've improved enough in general that--at least in casual games--that I'm regularly getting 25, 30+ kills on a good game, but my multikill streaks get stifled because I could be playing to enemy spawns better. I would love a more in depth video on that.

Yo one thing I realized while watching this video, that helps me often, and I feel like people never talk about is using the scan ability to locate weapons and especially power weapons. Like at 2:20 where you use it to find out exactly where the sniper landed. It's a helpful tip that I think would help people find weapons faster. I use it all the time to search for weapons and ordinance drops too. Hope someone finds this helpful

I'm 57. I started playing Halo in 2004. It was gaming's golden age! Back when G4TV was cool and "Red vs Blue" was a thing! Lol... I received the green Halo edition Xbox for fathers day and have been playing ever since. My 3 sons were just little kids at the time. We would play together and have a great time. I've played every title. When my oldest son left for college we would catch up online while playing multi player together with his brothers. Now my oldest works for Firaxis. My youngest is working in AI and augmented reality. Playing Halo , and other games, has helped them design an amazing life. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Ok so for the real answer on how to snipe and no scope. It's all about map knowledge and knowing your sensitivity. First you need to have good settings. If you play on 2 sens, I'm sorry, but if you wanna git gud at sniping you're going to have to bump it up. Make sure fov is at least 95 and no higher than 110. Here is a general guide for sensitivity; -Vertical value should be +2 of horizontal -Acceleration should not be greater than 4. Choose higher values the better your machine performance is, whether It's Xbox one or a high end PC. -Max input threshold should not be greater than 0.5 for both move and look deadzones. -center an axial deadzone do mitigate drift, however, the better your performance is, the lower these deadzones should be. Here are examples on each setup: -Xbox One: 2 accel, 3-4 sens, move deadzones: 0, 0.5, 12, look deadzones: 2, 0, 8 -Xbox series S/X: 3 accel, 4-5 sens, move deadzones: 2, 0.5, 5, look deadzones: 0, 0, 5 -Xbox series X (120 fps): 3 accel, 5-6 sens, move deadzones: 2.5, 0.5, 2.5, look deadzones: 1.5, 0, 2.5 -PC 120+ fps: 3 accel, 5-6 sens, move deadzones: 1.5, 0.5, 0.5, look deadzones: 0.5, 0, 1.5 You also want to set your zoom level sensitivity for all zoom levels to at least 1.2. 1.3 if you're on series X (120 fps), 1.4 if you're on PC. Next you need to learn how to pre-aim. This means you are aiming around walls and corners where you think the enemy will be. This applies generally to all fps knowledge, however what is different about sniping is that you need to be much more precise at preaiming, so you can find the head with a little flick of the right stick. You eventually want to hone in this skill so that you are not wiggling the reticle to pre aim, it should be a quick and decisive movement that happens in a fraction of a second. If the enemy jumps, don't twirl your aim to find the head, aim on the body, and wait for them to land, and then flick up. If you are rechalling or at an awkward angle, or just have trouble lining up the headshot, remember that you can move around to aim to, just don't fall off whatever level ground you're standing on. For no scoping it's the same idea, just without aim assist and a lot more flicking. So to practice your flick shot, go into a training mode match and select the sniper to practice. This is just a surface level tutorial. You can find more in-depth videos on KZbin. I recommend Proximmity's Halo 5 sniping vids.

Your view on Halo and 343 is phenomenal. I myself have a similar POV. Halo is something dear to my heart, I grew up with it, I've made friends with it and a grand amount of memories we're created by it. No matter what Halo it is, I'll play it with my friends or play it to find new friends or create new beloved memories. Despite 343's leadership being completely incompetent. I do hope the new leadership revives this game and turns it into a thriving game. They've already did some good things with minor hiccups but I'm ok with it. They just need to keep it coming and we as a community need to help alongside them. Not just bash them because they didn't live up to our expectations.

What I can't grasp is how you're such a fantastic sniper. Whenever I have a sniper weapon - especially the SR7 and the Skewer, and to a lesser extent the Shock Rifle and Stalker Rifle - my performance with it is ABYSMAL. Conversely, I'm much more consistent at mid-range, and the few Overkills-&-on and Frenzies I've gotten were with some combination of the Sword, Hammer, Bulldog, and Heatwave - close-range weapons. Is there any way a piss-poor sniper like me can become good or at least decent? Should I even try, or should I just stick to my apparently destined role as a CQC specialist?
