@wibbley15 күн бұрын
@weaton25 Neither do I. Just dump the wreck over the side & let the traffic flow. In reality, often it will be treated as a crime scene, so plod will be measuring distances, skid marks etc. UK roads are rammed solid. Everywhere is congested. This is not helped by the influx of diversity with their dubious riding/driving skills and the wokey-cokey mentality where bikes have to be given priority over every other road user, with large chunks of road given over solely for their use. Even then, often bikeys choose not to use them. The M25 motorway is notorious. Built through low-lying land it is often foggy & in the early days, even before it was fully completed, there were horrendous pile-ups. The M25 is a hop-on hop-off road encircling London. Often used for just a few junctions by those not regularly used to fast motorways, so many of these drivers are not used to the faster speeds and do not have the skill-set to drive on them. The M25, being so congested, a simple driving error can and does cause a serious pile-u[. Even more stupid is the fact one is never taught to drive on a motorway. It is unlawful for a learner driver to be on a motorway. So the first time they use one, they have no experience.

I don't think it is sorted out in an hour or two when there are fatalities in other countries. I have been stuck in a couple of jams due to similar events in Europe. They had an aire ambulance come in and he said 4 other ambulances that he saw, so it was clearly a major accident and you are not going to have the road closed in an hour or two anywhere in any country with extractions going on, air ambulances landing, treatments going on and an investigation

Having read many of the comments I'd suggest that rather than getting on with actually investigating a RTC the police are hanging about for someone to say some hurty words in frustration with their sloth so they can at least get a non crime hate incident on the books and get on the road to promotion. To get serious, these events happen and the police and traffic management agencies know they will happen, they also know that people will be delayed but have no provisions put in place to get traffic moving past the area of the collision. The first motorway was built 66 years ago, you'd think they would have something put in place by now.

Few weeks back I was on the way south on the M6, other side had a similar scene, screens up, traffic stopped for hours. One survivor, a kid, from a family of five heading home to Glasgow. A moment's inattention by someone can have awful consequences.

Given this tragic event is not uncommon on motorways, it seems perfectly possible that if delays will be more than twenty or so minutes the Police could start near the front of the queue and open up a decent gap and organise a "Return" back by the other carriageway IF there is no other traffic on it? Combined with a "barrier' preventing that queue getting longer!!! Moreover, in this electronic age, SatNav etc., an electronic visual aerial display of the 'blockage' plus Explanatory Text would speed up matters considerably!!!

What I am going to say may cause offence for which I apologise as this is not my intention. Back in the 70's such accidents on motorways were cleared as quickly as possible to the side to allow traffic to continue. The trend to shut down and forsensically analyse the scene only started later. In all that time the analysis has never stopped such accidents from happening (to me they seem to continually increase) so whatever was learnt cannot have addressed the public safety. Therefore the public inconvenience can only be to aid the insurance companies and maybe the courts in assigning blame and prosecutions. I am not sure of the total economic cost of such shutdowns but it must be huge ? My question - is this a price worth paying or should technology - drones etc - be used to record the scene prior to rapid re-opening of part at least of the carriageway.

I question the benefit of performing crash investigations and closing major motorways. If such investigations make the roads safer then there may be a reason for doing them but this is not what they are done. Unfortunately the main reason is to determine “fault”, blame and prosecution. Is this really justified? The cost to the country in wasted productivity is tens of millions and what do we achieve? I suggest very little. Then there is the human cost to be considered - plans wrecked, appointments kissed, opportunities lost, etc. And will the result be a reduction in accidents? Unlikely. Safer cars? Unlikely. I suggest Plod would be better employed feeling the collars of scrotes.

Sorry to say but a lot of incidents nowadays are caused by ‘newcomers’ who have either not taken a British driving test or cannot be bothered to change the driving habits they had in their own country. Take roundabout procedures for example. I have found, many times lately, that when I want to leave at the third or fourth junction, I approach said roundabout in the inner lane, to find someone in the outer lane is going all the way around and makes it difficult for me to be able to leave at my exit because they are casually going all the way around the roundabout stopping others exiting. This must have happened about ten times to me in the past few weeks and with some near misses as proper drivers expect those in the left lane to exit first. They obviously do not know the Highway Code and don’t get me started on the, usually, Indian culture of driving in the middle lane of a motorway, who have people both undertaking and overtaking them and they are completely oblivious to the pile ups behind! 😤. Any new person to this country should take a British driving test before being allowed on our roads. (I am not saying anything like this caused the accident yesterday, as this is the first time hearing about this particular accident, but I am having my rant because each time I take a journey now you really need to be extra vigilant).

Not embarrassing at all. He’s a complete spanner and ignoring him is a very sensible thing to do. His purpose is life is to show the world what sort of wanker you might get if you don’t take part in politics.

It looks as though most of your videos are being hidden from mw Andy. According to what I am shown this is your first video for five days!

Are you desperate for clicks? There was a crash and the police, as usual, take an age to let vehicles pass. And you see the opportunity for click bating some more monetisation. Disgusting.

"take an age to let vehicles pass" in third world countries they just drag the vehicles off the road to keep traffic flowing . we should adopt the same here . awful lot of time wasted over a single fatality .
