That’s so awesome!!!!! Amazing. I only imagined it. But to see it is truly amazing wow.

I think this is a star in your fleet of bikes. It looks so cool. Seems real versatile for street and trail. The brake mount are genius. I'm keeping it in mind for future builds. Going to secound hand stores later to look for a frame for a Klunker build. Passed up a Huffy frame like yours here last year. Been kicking myself since. I want to make a coster brake Klunker for trail riding. Just the one brake, like the old days. Strip it and put on a pair of bmx bars. Simple. No shifting, no cabels, just basic and fun. I think STATE Bicycle company makes one ready made but I dont have money to do that... The right frame is out there somewhere.

I feel like this is something I should try my hand at in the future.

THe problem with most of these old frames is their smallish size and the small diameter seatpost size. I'm about 5.6 and I've got quite a bit of seatpost to get good leg extension. I've bent a few tubular seat posts and now I just get the solid aluminum rods instead which have held up ok. A newer cruiser style frame with a larger seat tube/post would probably be a good candidate.

What a great bike! I bet it is fun to ride. Reminds me of a gravel type bike or one of those 650B Rando bikes.

Thanks. It is really fun to ride. The reach is a little long for me though as it is now and I'm finding I can't spend too long in the saddle or my back starts to bother me. I may try and remedy that with a different stem. Thanks for watching!

This is soo rad. You've inspired my next project.

Cool. Thanks! It's been fun to ride. Only issue I really have is the reach is a little long for me and bothers my back if I'm on it too long. I'm about 5'6". Since this video I've shortened the stem and slammed the seat forward. Only been out on short rides since so I don't yet now if it helped.

Looks great. The solution for the brakes is smart. Did you have to spread the rear to accommodate the freewheel?
@Locojoe3 жыл бұрын
Thanks yes I did. I spread it using some all thread with nuts and washers on it. I can't recall for sure but I probably also straightened the drop outs after using this tool I made kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoa5p6eQosebj7M Thanks for watching.

Another nice ride! BTW...Did you have to reset the rear triangle to accommodate the wider hub? (Not sure of the original hub spacing on a Schwinn rear)
@Locojoe3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes I did have to spread the rear triangle. I can't recall how much. I did it using a homemade tool of all thread, bolts and washers.

What is definition of klunker and the main classification of klunker? I am. Confused sir. I search and watch and i see that there like yours and bmx handle bar and there are bikes with straight handle bar? What is the old or new klunker or we may just it call hybrid klunker or what
@Locojoe3 жыл бұрын
I'm no expert and I'm probably being liberal in my use of the word klunker on this bike. I call it that just for a lack of a better term I guess. The bikes you see here clunkers.net/ are what I would consider true and the original klunkers. I try not to get too caught up in the nomenclature though.

Just how did you mount the rear derailleur to the frame??
