The body language jongho shows is actually a stage singing technique where you relax your throat muscles by tightening your abs which in turn expands your diaphragm and you use the breath coming from different parts of your body for different voice techniques (head falsetto gut). This decreases the tension on your vocal cords. And rule of hand for singing high notes is never to look up and the head tilt supports your voice and lets the sound bellow instead of it getting muted. Also, the nose scrunch is for opening up more of your oral cavity to produce an even fuller sound facilitating his beautiful verbrato without the sound getting closed off abruptly r being muted.

Jongho’s singing technique is flawless. Especially for the crazy high notes he does constantly The one who sounds strained here is San tho. I think he’s sick or something

San also had COVID 2 or 3 times and it left his vocal cords slightly damaged. He’s been changing his singing technique (with a vocal coach) but some of their earlier songs are more difficult for him because he can’t sing them the way he used to.

I was thinking the same thing. I've heard San sing much fuller and less strained, even post covid. I think he just wasn't in his best condition

It's body language. He has some of the best vocal habits I've ever seen.

You've been gone from the ateez scene for so long😭😭 I definitely suggest watching a fancam of either their Coachella performance (first kpop boy grp to perform there) or their Mawazine performance (first kpop grp headliner ever) because they were so gooddd

The song you forgot the name of was Wonderland. It was my fav song of theirs till Halazia came out. Then that became my fav. Now Wonderland is in my top two.

Have fun in Korea! I hope everything works out as planned. Fireworks: An unlabeled clip of the Fireworks Studio Choom where Seonghwa charges the screen was on a Korean channel commercial as I was flipping through channels. I could not figure out who he/they were and had the tune in my head for weeks before I started watching Kingdom:Legendary War to see another group and I recognized Seonghwa as being the same guy on the commercial on the second episode. THEN, I found Fireworks and listened to it obsessively over and over again. So, yeah. Fireworks is a favorite of mine still. Others on this show that are favorites are Utopia and Guerrilla. Enough of my favorites are missing from this KV that I NEED another episode! No Inception, Halazia, Wonderland, Cyberpunk, Take Me Home, or Silverlight???

Sorry but what about the SOUND coming out of Jongho’s mouth sounds strained to you?? I know you mention body language, but watching him for these past 4/5 years I can say it’s a combination of technique and habit. He FEELS a song and that is represented by his mannerisms. If the vocal doesn’t sound strained (it doesn’t) why is this even a question?
