Watercolors can feel a bit daunting, but keep practicing, playing most of all, find things you really feel inspired to paint, the colors you love to paint with, and you will get better and better, develop those skills, and next thing you know you are painting things you never imagined! Thank you for giving us some insight into your background with watercolor and your art skills in general. I can so relate to your enthusiasm especially since I am a beginner. I can hardly wait to sit down and paint and I feel deprived when I can’t find the time to do it! I hate it when I have to stop and fix dinner because my creativity is broken! Here I am talking like I a true artists when I am still struggling to put brush to paper but as you have pointed out having enthusiasm for painting is how one becomes a better artist. At 82 I won’t have years to grow what little Galen I have but I will enjoy every single minute!d

He he, I do too! Sometimes I get too busy and think. How dare life gets in my way of creating! I do carry my smaller paint palettes with me everywhere, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, you ARE AND artist absolutely without a doubt you are. We all are. We just haven't made friend with our little artist sometimes~ Just let it flow, just like those little children (they truly are wise aren't they) that threw the paint around, enjoyed, and painted what made them happy. And I say 82 years young friend. and me 61 years young. We still got it! Happy painting friend, to many more years of creating and celebrating this beautiful medium~

Love to hear your story ☺️ your hair is beautiful as are your eyes 🤗 I am 66 dealing with the horrible effects of Long-covid, me/cfs and fibromyalgia wich has left me with little to no energy. I needed some creativity in my life, I have always been creative in different ways. From making accessories like necklaces/earnings and brooches and pins to making custom content for computer games to nailart. Now thanks to my 3 year old grandson I discovered I like to paint and thought I give watercolor a go, I love the look of watercolor but had no idea what I was getting into 😂 A view months ago I started an online course, not yours sorry I only found your channel recently, and I love it. I struggled very very much with the wet on wet technique and watched loads and loads of videos trying to understand the water and pigment relation. There were moments that I thought I would not be able to learn it, but I wanted to learn it, understand it and I persisted. All those videos helped next to experimenting and even though I am still a beginner I have already learned so much and love it even more. So much that I eat, sleep and breath it 😂 The excitement when I see my growth and I painted something that actually looks beautiful is amazing. Watercolor not only saved me from falling into a depression but is teaching me so much about myself and new ways of doing things, patience and going slow for instance. I am forever grateful for all the talented and kind people like you here on YT that share their skills and experience and taking the time to make and upload videos and teach us who want to learn. With so much love and gratitude 🙏

Oh what a beautiful story, and I do know this, watercolors are special, healing, and truly hold a magic I have not found in any other medium. Im thrilled you have stayed with it. and I Hope I can offer lots of good techniques, when you find what inspires you, colors, subject matter, a teacher(s) You will find you learn, faster, and with enjoyment. WAtercolors can feel daunting, with the right guidance, you will bulid that muscle memory, and with that comes this wonderful confidence! Next thing you know you will be able to look at something and say, I know how to do that! Its quite exciting isnt it! You are quite young friend, and I dont believe in age anyway. IN our 60's, 70's, 80's we are now doing things we never did, or thought possible, we are in our prime! I think we have to continue to explore, try new things, chase what excites us, evolve, and our wisdom is incredible!
