Adrian, get it together man. While most watch makers are making slimmer and smaller case sizes, Omega decides to drop this behemoth of a watch on us. 45.5mm case size with a thickness of 17.4mm. Hard pass. Just fix the Seamaster 300M and PO's already so we can stop waiting in the Crown's waitlist's.

@Barkandjack I’d go with a vintage GP, either a gyromatic or a manual wind gold dress watch. Vintage GP’s ooze old world charm and they are genuinely interesting and can be easily had in your price range. A tank or similar is too predictable for CEO Boring but a vintage GP manages to be enchanting yet boring at the same time.

guys, guys, guys.... I don't think everyone wants a slim smaller lighter watch.. some people want half a kilo of gold wrapped round their wrist and want to know there is a piece of mechanical artwork beating away on the wrist.. Small watches are cool, yes there is a sheep 🐑 thing going where all of a sudden things like "smaller, lighter, thinner no date" is what people want... I don't think they do.. not at all, some people want 100 complications and seven layers to the case and movement.. hehe.. of course, just my opinion.. great chat again.. keep going.

If I were omega CEO for a day.... To me, Omega watches come across as toys. They need to stop making homage watches with all sorts of text, engraving, pictures etc on them. Nice that the Speedmaster went to the moon, but it should not say "moonwatch" on it, the original that went to the moon was a tool watch without stupid engravings. It didn't have a moon in the face or the back. The Bond watch, named after a fictional character ffs, should have no reference to Bond on it, we are not children! In contrast, Rolex Explorer was involved in expeditions to Everest, but it stays true to the original, it doesn't have an engraving of the mountain on the case back or homage dates and text on it. The Daytona doesn't have Paul Newman's visage on the case back. That is a watch for an adult to wear...

The weight argument... Christopher Ward sells a watch head with a sellita chronometer movement at 40 grams in carbon, or 50 grams in titanium. Both for sub 2K. Now, is CW Omega? No. They're a bargain, no doubt. But they aren't Omega. And if they're delivering lightness at those prices, when 22K is daylight robbery. Make it thinner, smaller, give it a beautiful titanium case, and sell it for 5-7k.
