My 77 inch A95L showed up Saturday. It is truly a blessing to have something so awesome to have 🙏🙏 I’ve had every Oled since 2015 from the EC9300 to the C8 to the CX to the A80j 77 inch. I’ve hooked this up with a Sony receiver and my HT-9000 wireless. My eyes and ears have been receiving the best tv image I’ve seen so far from the Oled. Seriously 💪💪🙏

Watching this review on my 55 A80K with my HTA 3000 lol.. which still looks pretty good in its own right. But man the 95 is something else lol.. OLED is like a tv drug, once you have one you only want a bigger or better OLED, or a combination of both lol. People with LEDs don’t have this great problem lol. First world issues haha.

While I like the a95l, I decided on the g3, and I’m very happy with my choice. The G3 already looked great out the box, but after some calibration. 🤩. While I like Sony, didn’t really want to pay $1000 more for the a95l compared to the G3.

I was one of the judges of the shoot out. The Sony was really special. It was noticeably sharper. It seemed to do everything right. It handled gradient images, skies, transitions better and with no banding compared to any other tv by a wide margin. I'm planning on getting a 55" A95L for my Davinci Resolve editing/color grading suite, and will have it calibrated. I only sit 5 feet from the monitor so a 55" is the right size for my room, but for sitting further back I'd want as big as possible. The Shoot out set up 2 $30,000 Sony 310 pro monitors to see which consumer tv came as close as possible. After seeing the pro monitor and the consumer monitor side by side, I'd feel confident using the A95L in professional environment.

@@PSYCHOV3N0MExactly, prices have come down. These panels are purchased from LG. 3100 vs 5000 is almost 2000 dollars in savings for marginal and almost imperceptible differences. @@DrunkenRhinocerosNo, these panels are purchased from Samsung. LG doesn’t make QD OLED. Only Samsung. And the differences are only marginal between the A95L, S95C & G3. Every other OLED model below those are substantially different. Especially in brightness and color volume. But even those small differences make a huge impact which is why this TV is getting such praise over the S95C & G3

Outstanding review Brian! You have shown your eager audience the dominance the A95L has over all it's very capable contenders. Sure, the G3 and S95 B and C are absolute monster TV's that deserve very high praise. In fact, Many here will choose one of those tv's (if for no other reason), price alone. Let's face it here, the Sony costs around $1300 - $1700 more for just a little better all-around viewing experience. Is it worth the extra cash? I say yes! It's always worth the extra cash. But I must blame my late father (God rest his Soul), for this fortunate or (unfortunate) curse put upon me!

SADLY, last night, I suddenly saw on my homescreen, that 90% of my APP thumbnail-images were gone! Replacing them were just one-colored backgrounds with white text over it.. PLEASE tell me there’s a way to get the images back on the apps??? Do I actually need to completely factory-reset the TV now, thus starting all over with everything I’ve set up? I’ve already tried shutting off the main power, plus restarting my router and made sure the software was fully updated on the TV as well.. So far nothing has worked :-( THANKS FOR YOUR REVIEW AND WORK! :-)

Great review, Brian. Two questions: 1. FOMO mentioned lag in using the native apps. Did you see that issue too? 2. Any difference in watching streaming content directly from TV vs watching is from something like a fire stick or Apple TV?
@PSYCHOV3N0M
@PSYCHOV3N0M 11 ай бұрын
A dedicated streaming device will always have better performance than a TV because TV's come with a garbage amount of RAM which affects the smoothness of loading apps and navigating the menus since the RAM has to handle other background tasks too. Built-in apps never get long-term priority updates vs dedicated streaming devices like Apple TV, Fire Stick, Roku Stick, Chromecast with Google TV, etc.

Lag because I had 3 apps running (Netflix, KZbin TV, Disney+, KZbin, etc.) but if you have only 1 or 2 running it's not as laggy - this is definitely an inconvenience as most people do not know to clear the memory of unused apps.

I found on my A95L that Advanced Contrast Enhancer causes brightness shifts in some scenes. Like the Enhancer lags behind a few frames when the scene changes, so as a result, when the scene changes, it's a bit dimmer for the first few frames and then it pops back up as the Enhancer catches up. A bit distracting :( Hopefully they can fix it with future updates, because I really like the pop that brings.

The details in bubbles in the upper left corner are simply lost - everything past a certain point is just white! My old LED Bravia from 2018 is much worse in every aspect except here where it seems to outperforms the king of TVs, Sony A95L Master series! I tried all the different settings, but nothing helped. Hi Brian! Surely you won't remember, but I wrote to you some time ago in the comments asking you about the G3 given that the 65" would arrive in a few days. Today I find myself a week after the arrival of its predecessor 😁 I went from the G3 to the a95l again from 65". What do you think about whether I made a choice that justifies the purchase? The difference is noticeable between the two, in addition to the obvious difference in the type of panel... thanks🙏

Hey Brian. Coming from an LG CX. I’m a big gamer so 4 HDMi 2.1 is important. Is the G3 good enough or the QD-OLED colour brightness is really worth it? It’s just that I find the lack of Dolby Vison with Samsung annoying and the Sony is pretty expensive. Thanks

my son just bought a 77 lg c3 this weekend, I am not used to oled, so I have to say its very nice to watch, There is tons of detail in darker scenes, not sure qd oled is that much better. I was sold on x95l for theater room, but now I am not sure what we would enjoy more, just for watching movies, the c3 in an 83 inch or x95l, decisions, decisions.. we dont game so that is not a factor. we still have to find a store where you can see both tv's. I know burn in is a fear , but what about using just for movie watching, is burn in an issue for this application? I keep good tv's for years, just wondering what is a good investment.

Hi Brian. Thanks for your detailed, highly professional review. My question relates to your recommendation for how best to wall mount this TV. I want to get it as flush to the wall as possible. In the video where You comment on how good the motion handeling is on this Amazing tv. Is the interpolation off? I see the clouds move very fast and there are times where the motion stutter because of how fast the clouds move. but it the motion is off on this video sequence...then it is very very nice. I have an lg b1 and it could be my own tv also that makes the stutter.

My man! I’ve been going back and forth from a QN90C and S90C that I just got today in the 83’’ heavyweight decision and the brightness is just not there with the WOLED PANEL for my living room, what would you suggest on the heavyweight division? Is the QN900C my only hope? Putting the 77’’ G3 in my bedroom is making this a tough one because I don’t want to leave OLED, but in that division there’s nothing giving me true brightness like the QLED would in that size

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY thanks. Quick question. To calibrate or not to calibrate? I’ve seen the video where it’s been said maybe not to, because Sony have done their magic to give it a pop that calibrating might remove. I obtained a 55-in A95L two months ago. It has had a firmware update. I love every aspect except the brightness limiter algorithm. Whenever I require a bit more brightness, the TV dims and gets darker again. It has all this brightness capability but I really can't use it. Does anyone have this complaint? I also have issues with Dolby vision not working properly. Also HDR dimming is an issue as well where I can't get enough brightness unless I go to vivid mode!
