AboveVTT Familiar Tutorial | How my party uses familiars

I'm doing them the same way except I've got the HP and AC showing as it's a beast master's companion, so far the only easy way to add it to a new map is for the controller to be moving its token as I transition the map, otherwise its re-adding it and then correcting it stats manually

if you save the token to the combat tracker, when you switch scenes, it will stay in the combat tracker and then you can easily add it to the next scene as well. additionally, you can make an Encounter on dndbeyond with all of your sidekicks/familairs/pets etc and then in your tokens tab in AboveVTT, they will be in a folder and ready to add. then, you can adjust those token settings. if you need to make a custom stated one, just make a copy of the monster with dndbeyonds homebrew creator and edit the stats there, and then follow my previous suggestions

As much as I see a benefit of using VTTs, I just... can't. Maybe I have too short of an attention span when looking at computers, or it may be that I'm tethered to PC during most of my at work life, that when I go home, I'll do my yt video stuff but then I want to get as far away from a computer as I can. I do, however, love making terrain and playing the game out with miniatures that way.

I totally get that. While I enjoy playing both online and in-person, when playing online I do like to have a VTT. I also like to have my virtual experience mimic the table experience as much as possible, which is why I gravitate towards AboveVTT when playing 5e and Owlbear when playing really anything else. But in a perfect world, I would be able to teleport to all my virtual friends on game night and laugh / play / eat snack in person, but alas I think I was born 100 years too early.
