Your point was made very well for you when you came off and lifted the bike back onto its tyres with one finger 😁. I see pics of GS's and their ilk; loaded to the gills, and can't see how you would ever pick them up after the inevitable tumble.

Yes for sure. That's what I thought really comes out of the video; that if you're on a trip and going off the beaten track, then the last thing you want to be riding is a big adventure bike.

Looks like a lot of guys out there trying to keep their bikes clean for their trip to Starbucks afterwards. Kudos to you for ripping around the track. I ride a 135CC X1-R here and a Himalayan and they're both a hoot to ride if you just push them. Ride what you have, ride it hard and have fun.

I think you proved the point, and then drove it firmly home! See you on Tuesday night. Les. PS, take a look at “MORI TV” on YT to see what can be done on and with a C70/C90.. Les

I was on a CRF250l and I didn’t fancy it at all but the marshals would not let you go round or go back! It was carnage, I felt bad for guys who are new to off roading! Must have been very off putting. Every bigger adventure bike crashed from what I seen, one or two nasty ones too
@TheBoltHoleBiker3 жыл бұрын
@@iangriffiths9930 Yes, that’s pretty much what I heard, I’m glad I didn’t get to it, I was on a Multistrada 950, so pretty much guaranteed to drop it🙁. Next year I’m going to take a dirt bike, so I’ll be up for it then.

There's a good video over on rallyraid's channel with their fella riding a CB500X round, from watching both I'd say you're best to have it pegged the whole way, no matter what you're riding...but maybe that's the wrong takeaway...
@rallyraidproducts19273 жыл бұрын
Its a BMW G310GS, but we agree with your takeaway point!
@nathanthepostman3 жыл бұрын
Yeah kind of. I went round on the cb500x in the morning when it was wet and you'd be upside down in no time if you pushed hard as it was very slimey but once a bit drier it made for a lot more grip. And the lighter bikes definitely help all conditions

You have to take it easy on these old boys. Many of them are going slowly due to being on borrowed hardware and having a pathological fear of dropping a bike. They do not understand that off road riders expect to fall down. 99% of them have never ridden off the tarmac unless they were drunk. It's a new thing for them.
@martinpip82123 жыл бұрын
Why were they standing, we have worse A roads than that in Yorkshire, my c92 would have left most of them eating mud 😂
