One thing that could be added perhaps is that at a moment you feel bad, you can step back and be more general rather than specfically focussing on the unpleasant 'details'. By stepping out to more general thoughts, it is easier to see a bigger picture, and find some positives, thereby feeling some relief. If I understand Abraham correctly, you or I don't go directly from pain to elation, we do it in gradual movements. Relief is a great feeling, for example, feeling anxious to feeling hopeful is a great movement. Hope this is helpful.

Totally random: You're gorgeous! I also agree completely. There's this overwhelming calmness and peace that really comes from Eckhart's work and then through this peace you can begin to go into the vortex more easily. I find that I become really good at turning my thoughts off and I actually feel sleepy... lol However, I then am able to see more clearly into the vortex and go even further into detail with the vortex work... I find both teachings useful. When I am in a dark place and need overwhelming peace, I look to Eckhart because being present is really just a constant state of mediation, sort of. I then use this to comfortably, with little to no resistance, guide me into a better feeling place that allows me to feel connected to source and all that is.

You explained it so simply, and it resonates. I’m so glad that I discovered Eckhart Tolle after months of listening to Abraham Hicks. And I was able to consolidate some of the principles behind both teachings. I agree that it’s the same. However, when listening to Abraham Hicks, it feels like there’s a lot of emphasis on ignoring and soothing negative emotions (which Eckhart Tolle refers to as pain body), rather than allowing/accepting the emotion by being present (with no thoughts fuelling the emotion) until the emotion/pain body transmutes over time, because you no longer identify with it. I know you touched on this part a bit in the video, but would be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Maybe an in depth video on this topic? Thanks for the video.

What I really don't understand is that Abraham-Hicks says you can attract negative things if you focus on that. But in non-duality, everything is there in every moment, not just negative things, but also positive things. So, imo, it is not about attracting things, but about how you perceive things. Therefore, it is not necessary to want things, because everything is there already in every moment. You only need to change the way you see reality. Or am I wrong? I hope someone can explain this to me.

Abraham Hicks actually says "all power is now" and continually talks about enjoying the present moment. Both teachings are the same. I also see a similarity with David Deida, who also emphasises presence. Another similarity with all 3 is the use of emotion; shining a light of awareness on emotion as opposed to attempting to push it away.

Perfectly explained. Well done!

I really appreciate that, thanks. I'm at a point of trying to integrate both teachings, so ot was nice to hear how they really do have the same underlying intention.

Yeah, bang on there.Same teaching essentially,slightly different angle.One minor gripe.I feel Abraham could be a little more responsible with spelling things out at times, especially with people new to their teachings,on the not trying to escape where you are to get somewhere "better" bit.Not trying to affirm etc your way out of a situation to one you deem better,thus, as you pointed out setting up resistance.I'd say many (including myself some years back) fall into that trap.

i have another question : when eckhart says " accept what is " and you are feeling bad and you are looking at the pain body and you know its the pain body with awareness .. whats the attraction point ? are we attracting pain because we are feeling it ? thats what i didnt get yet
@Giul527 жыл бұрын
Ali if you are really just looking at the pain body is impossible you feel pain. Therefore if you feel pain it means you are still identified with the pain body. So if you look at the pain body, just observing it without any judgement or identification, what you are really doing is practicing acceptance and surrender of what is. That is your point of attraction. If, on the other hand, you look at the pain body but then you get dragged by it and identify your self with it, what you are doing is giving your attention and energy to the pain body, and therefore creating the same pain in the present. In this sense, yes, your point of attraction becomes the pain. Hope this helps
@Birdo0o7 жыл бұрын
giulia siri i think what i mean is : pain=physical discomfort ( when observing the body may arise ) , suffering =emotional discomfort ( its the results of thoughts or past issues in the body ) , so if i experience ( pain as physical ) or ( suffering ) but "i know" and "im aware" its just passing and the feeling and pain is not me its just an energy release.. the point of attraction is acceptance correct? but if i was thinking and forgot my self in the suffering and the pain.. my point of attracrion is more suffering is my understanding correct ?
@Giul527 жыл бұрын
Yes.
@mimartinez51754 жыл бұрын
@@Birdo0o yes, when you are identified with the suffering you give power to it, when you just look it, the mind lost the power of attraction, this is my understanding until now
