Lincoln did say that but it's a strange quote coming from him because he suffered serious bouts of depression much of his life. Joshua Speed, a close friend when he was young, once said that Lincoln told him he didn't dare carry a knife with him because he was a afraid in a fit of despair he might use it on himself. Given what he suffered his accomplishments are all the more remarkable.

This is a most valuable, - A MOST SACRED RIGHT - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government, may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people that can, may revolutionize, and make their own, of so much of the territory as they inhabit. More than this, a majority of any portion of such people may revolutionize, putting down a minority, intermingled with, or near about them, who may oppose their movement." "When you look for the bad in others, you will find it." You end up basing your view on them through preconceived judgments, which become what you find, and that even applies to those who look for the good in others. Only by taking a nonjudgmental view, neither looking for the bad or good, can you see accurately see what a person is. Observe closely their words and actions and they will show you what they are, then base your judgments on what they display the most. That will show you the quality of their character. Even in trivial matters, the quality of one's character can be seen. "Everyone you meet is a blank canvas, until their soul picks up the brush." -Angelus Solus

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." I can't think of a quote more relevant for today than this one. 2:53 As much as I loved Donald Trump and voted for him in 2020, this quote he should have listened to and taken it to heart.

You do realize that there was a democrat in charge during WW2. Maybe it's the people in charge more than the political party they're associated with.

The Democrats in the middle of the 1800s were pro-slavery. Most of them were white people from the South. Almost all of those people are Republicans today. That makes your comment ahistorical

Excellent Sir, your character, your ideas with the greatest aspiration always will be inspired by the mankind. As a teacher and a journalist , I taught your quotes and sayings to children, as a motivational act, especially, "Dear Sir, please teach my son to sell his brawn and brain to the highest bidder, but not to put a price tag on his heart and soul "-still I am continuing that quote, since my childhood, in the midst of all difficulties. Being teachers, also my parents advised me to walk in that path, to make myself as an examplery character for the others too. 'Comparative Ulesis '.
