Today's adventure takes place in Elwood, Illinois at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. There's a different feeling you get when you are in a cemetery such as this. It is a humbling experience seeing row after row of men and women who fought for this country. There are thousands of heroes in the cemetery and, today, we are going to focus on a couple. The first one will be that of Lieutenant Colonel Iceal Eugene Hambleton, call sign Bat 21. Hambleton was the center of the largest rescue mission of the Vietnam War. So notorious, in fact, that a book was written about him and also a movie. The second story I have for you is that of 1st Sargent George Hyatt who volunteered for a suicide mission during the Civil War and survived. So come join me as we explore Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
