For me and you both sir! I picked up an XK8 just this weekend with a flickering on and off ABS sensor which has been this way for years. Will check connections first but this is so helpful! I hope your project goes well!

T-7000 Black is the adhesive to use. It has a needle tip. Deoxit Gold is the best contact treatment. You really need to let a lot more fluid flow from the caliper bleed nipples when you do the ABS pipe removal.

Thanks for the recommendations GV. PS re fluid. That was the power (or unintentional deceit ) of editing I'm afraid. I actually refilled my feeder bottle 3 times and used around 0.5 litres while bleeding. The down curve in the pipe means that you never got an image of the fluid reaching more than about 4 inches into the pipe before it just fell away under gravity. The unedited footage even of just one caliper being bled was too boring to leave in, even by my standards as I just sat quietly staring at the pipe. Hope you are well mate.

In hindsight, would it have been possible to try the unit before sealing on the top cover. Just in case the fix hadn't worked ?

Yes I agree. As long as the weather was dry. I could have run it around for half an hour with the lid off, as long as i was certain no water would get splashed up onto the circuit board. A good idea. I guess i was just feeling very confident?

Thank you John. It seems to me the most likely fault was the stressed power pin soldering. If so, I wonder if you'd hazard a guess why they are susceptible. Vibration? [Edit:] I wonder if given the fact the plug is harder to reach, perhaps it's more prone to people not being careful enough pulling it off and putting it on again, putting the solder under stress. I don't know how likely that is as I haven't fiddled with mine. Don't you find sorting out older fixes is half the problem sometimes?

Very good point Bernard. The short stiff wires and difficulty in reaching that power connector could very well result in folk putting a lot of strain on that connector. Vibration is also possible as the BBS unit is rubber mounted and capable of a little movement independant of the body and therefore the loom.
