Wow. That truck is actually more fully-featured than the TRX-4. I bet Traxxas is not happy about this truck having lockable differentials. EDIT: The diff locking mechanism is almost identical to the one Traxxas uses. No wonder this truck isn't sold in the USA.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
Does Traxxas has a patent on it?
@deusexaethera4 жыл бұрын
@@Matteomeier: Traxxas patents everything they possibly can, because that is the only way to protect products from bootlegging in the USA, and the RC market isn't profitable enough to withstand widespread bootlegging. Traxxas sued Arrma a few years ago for designing a truck with locking differentials and lay-down shock absorbers, similar to the Traxxas Summit even though the details of the designs were different. That truck (the Arrma Nero) was discontinued shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Traxxas is extremely protective of its business, which is why it has the money to pay for interesting new designs like the Summit and the TRX-4.

That is one nicely put together Jeep! Portal axles, differentials...the whole deal. On a side note, that transmitter is a Dumbo RC/Surpass Hobby/etc... Not that it's a bad thing! I have two 6 channel Surpass radio receiver combos I use on my trucks and they're quite good...even in our bitter cold winter. You can also reassign the channels. I use Ch. 3 to switch the lights, Ch 5 for the 2 speed transmission and am keeping Ch 4 (the three way slide switch) for when I install the winch. So, I still haven't figured out who makes the chassis yet (everybody makes it for somebody else..hehehe), but the radios are top notch. 😊 As always, beautiful footage, and nice mods. 👍🏻

Im taking the Bronco down to the creek today. Its awesome living on our private 7K acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country. I have more trails to drive on than most people can imagine. I drive on 100+ year old cattle & goat trails. Some are hard to go up on foot! I never get bored. There are literally hundreds of miles of trails for me to run on. If I ever get over being a lazy retired guy I might start making a few running videos. More than the crappy ones I already have in YT. I'm very interested in this new RC. Nice truck, im keeping a close eye on it. I wonder if this rig can eat hardcore obstacles for breakfeast, if i decide to put some weigths and a good set of aftermarket tires. I have a Redcat gen7 pro and a Carisma Ford f150, and both of them suffer a bit of an abuse by the terrain i put them through, and aside from a burnt motor and destroyed gearing ( they were plastic ) i had no problems.
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
Heat hardcore obstacles sounds strange to me. Too much will destroy most of these RTR trucks...
@panzerrjcb4 жыл бұрын
@@Matteomeier This kind of rigs ( with proper mods ) are more than adequate to climb difficult obstacles, they are called crawlers for a reason ( not 100% scale), but i recommend bringing spare screws or screwdrivers to support them when you are in the field... Its pretty common for my Rc mates to destroy their gearing, suspension, axles, etc, when they are driving their rigs, but they bring along pleeenty of spare parts to repair and keep going in the field. They are crazier ( and richer ) than me...

Yes, that's what I mean, on the limit you need spare parts and tools.... 👍😊😊 But as you said, upgrades are necessary when you want to drive it hardcore.

Hi Matteo, I've just ordered a Absima CR 1.8 for Christmas. There aren't many reviews out there about this new 1/8th scale crawler, but what I've found out so far is that the rear lights aren't always on like the front lights. Is that the same like the Sherpa? I see you have the rear lights permanent on, was that a modification you did? If you can point me in the right direction, that would really help! I would love to have the rear lights on permanently. Not only when the blinkers are active, or when I brake/reverse the car.
@Matteomeier2 жыл бұрын
On the Sherpa the rear lights are permanent on, without modification. But I don't know how it works on the Yucatan. Maybe you can connect the rear lights to the front lights, so they will be continuously on like the front lights.

A 4-linked rear with a Panhard bar? That's not how it's supposed to be unless the 4-link has no triangulation between the links. A Panhard bar makes the axle move slightly sideways however the triangulated 4 linked will try to keep it in it's place, causing stress on the links, chassis and axle.

All that great stuff - and NO Interior?? 😲 Besides that, I agree with you that this is a terrific player in the RC Crawler Market. In some ways it looks like a SCX10 III, but with locking Diffs. The Axles look strong and the gearing is goood. I have to wonder, since the Body looks so much like the Jeep of the SCX10 III, would the Axial Interior fit?? Since you've got one, maybe you could find out? 😉 I might consider this, if it comes to the U.S. AND after my Ship FINALLY comes in next year! 😁 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Anytime if I can Help! 😉 It just seems like it would work. I wish I could afford to try it... 😢 I have a question... Do any of the Tamiya Interior Plates fit a M Chassis Car?? Thank you my good Friend!

How does this one compare to the TRX-4 Sport?
@Matteomeier4 жыл бұрын
The performance is the same but the Sherpa is much better equipped with functions.
@kennethjensen73584 жыл бұрын
@@Matteomeier Yes I can see, but the aftermarket and option parts wins the TRX-4. E.g.: There are not much brass to buy for the Sherpa. Do you know if it takes 3s lipo's? :-)

@@kennethjensen7358 Yes, I have 3s lipos in mine, you can see it in the video.

Awesome truck. Offers so much for the price it costs. Probably the crawler which offers the most bang for your buck. Sadly this thing is sold out absolutely everywhere. No chance to get one at least for a few weeks I guess. Thx for your presentation, Matteo!

Exzellente Aufnahmen technisch und von der Landschft her. Besonders interessant ist, wie du die Auswirkungen der Differentialsperren und des 2- Gang Getriebes gezeigt hast. Freue mich auf jedes Deiner Videos.
