Hello Phil, I appreciate all your Absima series, they are really illustrative and super well explained, I am applying your teachings to improve my Absima. Thanks for doing a great job.

Hello Phil. I saw your link to this video on the Absima CR3.4 Sherpa Owners Club on Facebook. I've just bought a blue Sherpa via the club and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. I enjoyed this video and learnt a few things about the Sherpa that I didn't know. I'd read that the wheels & tyres were odd diameters on the outside and and inside, but I hadn't seen a video with anyone actually showing both sides before. So thanks for that. I also didn't realise that it had brake lights too. I've watched numerous videos about them and one of the things I noticed about your Sherpa is the rear indicators are in the bumper, which I like very much. Every other Sherpa I've seen has them in the rear lights on the body, which I think is naff. Did you change them round and put orange led's in the bumper, and red led's in the rear lights. It looks so much better, and more realistic. That's one of the first things I want to do with mine. I'm also a sucker for led's and fit them to most of my RC's whenever possible. I also like your "Thumb Steer" Could you tell me where you bought it please. I use an old Tamiya buggy tyre on my Flysky's steer wheel, which is OK but not ideal. Thanks for the great video Phil. I look forward to seeing more of your Sherpa. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. I love the surf boards. They look excellent. All the best mate. Derek 👍😀

Hi, thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it and found it useful, that's my main aim with these videos 😊👍! I have swapped the tail lights and indicators over, really simple job and one of the things I'll be covering in the next video, but it is just a case of undoing a few screws and moving them (with a little bit of wire re-routing). I need to either buy or design/print some clear covers for the indicators though, as they are behind a red lens at the minute, and that triggers my OCD a bit. The thumb steer is my own design and print, give me a shout on Facebook and I'll be happy to sort one out for you if you like. I'll be linking to all the scale accessories as I cover them in the various videos, some are bought but I 3D print most of them myself. Cheers, Phil

@@PhilBrindley Ahh so they're red lenses. In that case I'm going to splice the rear indicator wires into the bumper lights and front indicator wires into the headlight wires so both sets are permanently on. I know some people just unplug them, but they're led's and must be used ! 😄. I'm not a fan of indicators on trail rigs really. It doesn't look right to me indicating every time you turn, especially when you're off road. But I will replace the blue ones in the spots for white like you did. I will contact you via the club about the thumb steer. Thank you very much for the offer Phil 🙂👍

They are red lenses in the bumper at the back, but the indicator LEDs are orange, so they do flash quite orange. I've just this evening printed up some replacements out of orange TPU and they look pukka! Will be sure to include the details in a video along the way. 👍 I know what you mean about it looking odd to have the indicators going off when crawling, but I still quite like them. My Daughter thinks they are "super cute" so they are staying! 🤣

Hello can you tell me the specifications on the upgrade with links if possible? - wheels and rims - shocks steering servo -and other modifications? Thanks to you friend
@PhilBrindley3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the wheels are AX Speed beadlocks from Amazon, and the tyres are Pro-Line Flat Iron XL G8 from www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/. I haven't bought any other upgrades yet, but there will be more soon, and a video to go with them, so stay tuned 😉

@@PhilBrindley Hey Phil, I like your videos and I'm currently deciding about new rims and tires. Just curious whether your rims/tires and 1.9 or 2.2 or maybe even mixed?
@PhilBrindley3 жыл бұрын
@@jenshahn1610 Hi, I'm using 1.9" rims and they seem the right size for this sort of "scale truck" rig. The Rock Racer style such as the original Axial Wraith or Bomber work well with 2.2". Some more info and tests in this video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5WmoIWChJ6Fma8, and its follow up.

What is the difference between that one and the Pro one????
@PhilBrindley Жыл бұрын
Not sure of all the differences, but iirc the pro has better shocks, a 1080 esc and a few cosmetic changes.

Is the motor waterproof and can it use nimh batteries?
@PhilBrindley3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Brushed motors are perfectly capable or running underwater so there are no issues there. If the water is very dirty then it may cause premature wear on the brushes, but I think personally that this is minimal compared to the probable life of the truck. The other components are all listed by Absima as being waterproof (esc, servos etc.) but I would exercise some caution here and not completely submerge the vehicle regularly (although I know some folks that do 🤣). Hope that helps 🤙
@PhilBrindley3 жыл бұрын
Also, yes you can use 7.2v NiMH batteries.

Is it waterproof
@PhilBrindley3 жыл бұрын
All of the specs from Absima state that it is, and I've had no issues with running it in water so far (up to the windows). I've see some footage of them pretty much fully submerged, but have not done that myself. 🤙
