Why are there so many rude comments about this guy.. yeah, he used a prompter, but he made a vid to help people out... I found this VERY helpful ESPECIALLY since I was struggling so much with this subject..... and he made it so simple to understand.... yet when I come to the comments to see what other people have to say about his help, all I see are comments about how you guys think he's bad at what he's doing..... I know this is the internet, but seriously, making fun of someone before thanking them, is like not thanking them at all... I'd like to personally say thank you to you. I now have a better grasp of what paths are..

I had to make some videos like this a few years ago. I kept messing up even with a prompter. For some people (like me) it's just really hard. Thankfully, I got better after many recording sessions over the next year or so. I was even able to talk with a comfortable smile without a prompter eventually. So if there's anyone going through such a problem, don't give up! Just keep learning and practicing. You'll get the hang of it. :)

I am still confused. If I am working on a file and the info I need is in another file. Both infos (in the working file and needed file) are on two different projects linked to one project . How do I get it cos my code keeps saying file not found. Update: I finally figured how to get hold of it using the absolute path but can't figure the relative path out.

So basically absolute path is the full path of a file and starts with a "/", relative path is the file name by itself and does not start with a "/"

Someone answer this then: When you type the pwd command, you notice that your current location on the Linux filesystem is the /usr/local directory. Answer the following questions, assuming that your current directory is /usr/local for each question. a. Which command could you use to change to the /usr directory using an absolute pathname? b. Which command could you use to change to the /usr directory using a relative pathname? c. Which command could you use to change to the /usr/local/share/info directory using an absolute pathname? d. This was wonderful, but I am a little confused about the parent directory. When you use ".." does it always refer to home/username/ or does it just go two directories up? And what exactly is a parent directory? Google defined it as the directory which contains the current directory. But that would only be one directory up, not two. Any help is appreciated!
