The Absolute Joker better be tall & skinny like the main canon Joker, who is 6'5" & 191lbs, which tends to be forgotten when drawn/depicted/cast, cuz Joker should always be clearly taller than Batman. The Joker's speed, length, unpredictability, & inhuman pain tolerance are why he is formidable at H2H CQC. The Joker 🃏 is gonna be fighting this roided out Batsy, so J will need to be a badass at: Judo & BJJ & Boxing, w/some dope kicks (like Axe Kicks & Sweet Chin Music & various leg kicks, think Jon Jones &/or Andy Hug) if thy F up The Joker, then i hope DARKSEID wipes this Absolute Universe out of existence nearly immediately 😀

Funny enough Darkseid dying is part of why this universe is born 🤣 I think they’ll wait to introduce the joker, hopefully big characters like that are done justice.

I don't like the way DC has been treating their main line heroes these days. As for these absolute universe heroes, I'm all in. If they want to mess around with continuity, then going to an alternate dimension is the best thing they can do. Go wild, take risks. Wonder woman and her pegasus of hell look badass. I know the darker superman is a tired trope, but I'll judge when I finally read it. As for batman. Hell yeah batman, hell yeah.

Love the way you threw in All In 🤣 Yeah, Superman is the only one of the trinity that has had a good run the last few years. Batman has had some good black label and detective runs but the mainline has been stale. I’m all in as well and can’t wait to get my hands on the Absolute books.

One thing I stress in my reviews is that there is a difference between a good story and a good adaptation. I've seen good stories that are bad adaptations, and good adaptations that are bad stories. This sounds like the former. There are some interesting ideas, but it doesn't really sound like Batman to me, or at least Matt Reeves Batman, which doesn't alter my point in my eyes. I'd probably be more interested as an original superhero, but as Batman it's too far removed from what I see as the core ideas of Batman that tells me "this is Batman" beyond the costume, or as I call it "multiversal continuity".

My all-time favorite movie is technically a bad adaptation. I will take the creators to task when they miss an opportunity to make something original instead of altering what already works into something unrecognizable to its fans. It's happened to me too often over the years.

I mean, its called an elsworld for a reason, it's a different and refreshing take of the already-established heroes. It doesn't take away from the hero you know and love because it isnt canon to the main continuity.

@@Jackhimsaw Calling it an "elseworld" doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a bad adaptation, no matter how good the story itself may be. This isn't a Tangent Comics situation, where they slapped a name on a character for funzies. This is telling me this character is the same character from other DC adaptations, but missing much of their core representation, that "multiversal continuity" I mentioned. When it feels like a completely new set of characters, you might as well make it a new continuity with new characters. I shouldn't have to ask "did this have to be the Penguin?". Funnier is Minnie Driver, who voiced this incarnation, tried to insist that Penguin was always a "genderless creature" in the comics, which is just ignorant of comics. (Not surprising, with the media pecking order in Hollywood burying comics on the hierarchy.) "Creature" only matches up if it's based on Tim Burton's re-imagining, and I don't like Burton's re-imagining. However, Oswald was never "genderless" unless something happened in the comics I don't know about.

The only thing that I don't like in this new absolute universe is this new batmans weird hook cape and especially that god awful logo that looks like a black lego block with razors coming out of it if there are people who actually like the new batman then thats your opinion but for me burn that cape and that logo with fire

The design and art is awful, and his physical proportions are absolutely laughable. Also, Batman not being rich makes no sense. If this Bruce has a job as an Engineer, how does he have the time and energy to dedicate his life to fighting crime on a nightly basis? Also, how can he travel the world and dedicate years and years to training in all forms of combat as a middle class worker? I get that this is fantasy and anything goes in fictional writing, but some things have to make some sort of sense if you actually want a story to be taken seriously.

You can learn how to fight without traveling the world. This isn’t canon Batman. It’s like a Marvel What If? for DC: What if Batman wasn’t a billionaire?
