Thanks , this is like the 5th video I’ve seen on this product, this is the last detail I needed 👍

Happy to help. It exceeded my expectations once I saw 4K resolution over the Thunderbolt USB-C cable while also charging. None of the normal mirrorless cameras I've tested in USB webcam mode output higher than 720p, the Canon PowerShot V10 does 1080p.

Man I love the Pocket 3! You got an awesome deal on yours. I’m really tempted to get a Mic Mini just for the portability even though I have the Mic 2 now.

@@CollabMoore the Mic Mini is pretty slick when you pair it and small. You should only need the one standalone transmitter for $59, too: amzn.to/3DFvJmI 😉

since when does it support 4k 30fps as a webcam? last time i tried(when i bought the camera summer 2024) it could only do 1080p as a webcam, which i found really annoying

It worked in OBS. Surprised me, too. You can see it in this video and it's real on the OBS canvas. Edit: I did update the firmware before connecting it to OBS, so it could be that or if not that your USB-C cable or port on your machine wasn't Thunderbolt 4 rated like the one I used.

Does the obsbot tiny remote work to control ptz if the pocket 3 is plugged into the obsbot uvc to hdmi adapter? I’m using my pocket 3 to record sports events and would like to be able to control the gimbal while the pocket 3 is mounted on 8ft tripod/boom setup. Using my iPad Air M2 with camerafi live or camo studio as a mobile studio.

I don't know. I don't have the remote to test. I have both cameras and the UVC to HDMI converter. I doubt it though. The only way it could work is if the remote controls the UVC standards for pan tilt zoom, both the cameras use the UVC controls for the motors, and the remote only drives the UVC controls in each operating system. That's not plausible though, because it implies that the remote primarily interacts with Windows, Linux and macOS. As an embedded systems engineer, it's much easier and more predictable to build a radio into the Tiny 2 and have the remote interact with that. So I'm less than 5% confident that it would work cross platform. You'd have a better chance using your phone with the DJI Mimo app. That seems feasible if it isn't blocked in webcam mode.

@ I was hoping the uvc adapter was responsible for sending the signals from the remote since the remote receiver plugs directly into the uvc adapter. There’s a YT video I found where someone demonstrated ptz control using the obsbot usb to ndi adapter which doesn’t fit my use case. I was hoping I could find a ptz control method that wouldn’t interfere with the webcam mode. I guess I’ll have to settle on using the Mimo app to frame the shot, then plug in the USB cable to go into webcam mode. If you do by chance get a hold of the remote, it would be great if you could test this out, I’m sure there are other Pocket 3 owners who are interested in this as well.

@wiltumbaga4031 that's the 5% case in my estimate. If it just mimics a wireless keyboard, you could be right. The way to almost test this would be to hook up both cameras in UVC mode, then see if the UVC controls in OBS control the motors. I can try that.
@wiltumbaga40313 күн бұрын
Well if that’s the case, would you please test this hypothesis? Seeing if OBS can control the Pocket 3 while connected to the obsbot uvc?

I have good news and bad news. First, I do have the remote, Pocket 3, and Tiny 2. The good news is that both the DJI Pocket 3 and OBSBot Tiny 2 use the UVC controls for pan, tilt, roll, and zoom. And the remote is essentially mimicking the functionality of a keyboard (or joystick). The bad news is that the amperage draw from the Pocket 3 is higher than the OBSBOT HDMI to UVC device USB port supports. This is because it's trying to charge the battery and transmit data - even with a full battery, it's too much draw. For science, I've ordered a $10 USB-C Y-split cable from Amazon with separate charging and data connections in hopes that I can stop the charging draw from the Pocket 3 onto the HDMI-to-UVC converter. My confidence levels are higher (maybe 20% now), but still needs validation.

How low can you use it as a Webcam before it over heats?
@DeployJeremy4 күн бұрын
I had it on for 8+ hours the day I recorded this. I think the overheating is when it's encoding video and writing to local SD card media. That is the same with my Sony cameras. In webcam mode, it never gets warm to the touch so far for me.
