Dude! You can't call out one guy for shortening mathematics to just math singular (not the correct, maths plural) then go on YOURSELF to refer to the plural of codex as 'codexes' not the CORRECT codices!

“But I also know people in those sectors who are…quite nefarious in their sector” you can watch literal hours of content on KZbin about drama involving furries who turned out to be absolutely reprehensible. The majority of these are individuals that not even

Ah, Tottenham Court Road... I was on vacation in London back in '05 (I think) and decided to pop in and get a box of Temple Guards for my friend's Lizardmen army as a souvenir. The clerk or whomever was at the till didn't want to sell them to me and tried to convince me to swap to playing Eldar in 40k instead. Insert me, a socially awkward 15 year old, trying to explain to him in my third language that no one I know plays 40k and that they are a gift to a friend and getting bullied by an employee for playing the wrong game and the wrong army. Avoided that store like the plague on my subsequent visits to London. Even to this day.

I could sell you loads of stuff, but it's more important to me to make you feel uncomfortable and unwanted. That's my idea of what a store manager does, and Games Workshop loves how low much this mentality helps keep operating costs down. No plastic for you, I'm the games Nazi. 😂

I worked at a university bookshop for a few years, and the idea that you arent allowed to look through a book before buying it is totally bewildering to me. If i knew they wouldnt really need the book butjust a few pages i even advisedthem to go to the library and copy them, thats totally within copyright. sounds stupid? Guess where these guys bought their books from for the rest of their student years

GW need to really stop being so precious over the codex. Free rules resources exist all over the internet and on apps. If you want to read the store copy of the codex why not honestly

The old Plaza store on Oxford Street was great (Top floor days in the late 80s), never the same when it moved to Tottenham Court Road.

I have an email to sent you about my experiences working at GW in the 90s, how can I find your email address? I'm not on discord... thanks 😅

Haha, the codex thing reminds me of being in the Warhammer store once:

There was this one manager we all loved, he had this method that worked like 90% - 95% of the time. He would put the item he was talking about in your hand and it would trick your brain to buy it! Something about it being in your hand, psychology blah blah. He was cool one of the best he was lenient on rules to a degree i.e. store copies of codeices to look at among other things (he let me use some store paints to help me paint my first model)

I had a simular experience. I used to play in the Tottenham Court Road store back in 7th edition.

When I heard you talk about bad gw managers I had to feel something, I'm more than happy to hand off info but long and short of it, just pre COVID one of the local GW to me had a manager that lost a sale of a codex due to trying hell or high water to push me to pick up models first as he thought I was a beginner (I am not)
