Idk why this guy kept spamming horses only against pure hoplites.. But really nice use of underworld passge, that aws a brutal double tc snipe. Something only possible for greeks and especially zeus (because of the extra dmg against buildings..

His hoplites are super fast. I did this all the time in the og game. Would hit their main tc force the enemies units to come back and then go back through the UW and hit their forward tc catching the enemies army out of position twice basically

Hoplites are good especialy with ares or athena upgrades 🎉🎉

The sarrissa upgrade is really interesting. Increasing range of melee unit is really cool

@@adrianjamesdelfin7414 But in early games Hippeus is better. It's only at later stage when you can force a pitch that Hoplite/Myrmidon shine

I don't understand why it's so worth it to take town centers.. everyone does it so it must be a good strat but I don't understand why.. If it's a town center with lots of economy dependant on it, like the main one for the trade route or one with a dozen villies farming around, I clearly see the huge value but a random TC, i don't get..

Three main reasons : 1- they're a defensive building much stronger than a tower that can garrison villagers, it provides more safety for the workers in the area. 2- they produce villagers. More TC = more villagers out early so your economy booms faster. 3- population space : In AoM you're limited to 10 houses (5 if you're atlantean), which means you got 100 pop space on houses alone. But a TC provides 15 pop space (20 with the fortified upgrade), so you can raise your pop cap by taking TC

I do think villager centers are underrated right now. I want to theory craft with them more. Barely anyone uses it in ranked

@@RoulicisThe i get all that but it feels like ppl value taking down town centers EVEN when it doesn't seem to be the time to auto-queue Villagers or when the opponent have plenty of other TCs to make villagers anyway.. As for population, players are much more likely to not notice they're missing a house than to not be cognisant of their TC count, it feels much easier to take down a house or 2 than taking down a TC and the reward might be more long lived.. I deffinitely get that in order to win you need to take down those TCs but in terms of getting yourself towards that win con, it feels like taking down TCs shouldn't be such a huge priority.. Maybe I'm just not framing all these games properly, maybe I'm just seeing the results of ppl going for the win and interpreting them as just giving themselves a stronger position.. Maybe If I actually played I would start to understand, as a spectator it always feel weird to see TC being given so much value.. I cringe when I see a player spending 15 times as much ressource in units just to take down a TC that's rebuilt right after it's taken down.. and no one seems to comment on it not being worth it, so i'm super confused..
