I analyzed Teddy Swims on this channel a couple years ago with his song "I Can't Make You Love Me" and was quickly enamored by his sound. His blending of R&B, soul, country and pop with a gritty and beautiful vibrato gives me the best of chills!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Teddy Swims performing "Lose Control" for the first time.

@@bigrobfromthev Taylor Swift has gone that same route in Nashville. In her teens she sang about Tim McGraw and that ONE SONG sent her popularity into the stratosphere. I heard Teddy quite a few years ago. Loved his music and voice but lost track of him. It was really exciting to see that Kelly brought him into the spotlight!! Teddy deserves every accolade he gets and maybe Taylor will invite him to sing with her soon. What a duet that would be!!!

I totally disagree with your hate on Rockers and Metal head as you call them, no they’re being ignored and crapped by all this commercialized mainstream trash they call music these days. Don’t get me wrong I love all genres of music but, I can’t believe they’d disrespect the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by indoctrinating rappers into the Rock Hall of Fame over all the great rockers that have been indoctrinated first. I can assure you if a Rocker ever received a Soul Train p, Motown or BET award these main stream idiots would go completely freaking crazy, so give me a break plus, Teddy is also in the Rock genre but he’s also in Blues, Country, R&B and soul. A lot of Rock Bands are in many different Genres also but never get recognition because they believe in real music being played by people with instruments and singers using their voices not some damn auto-tuned distortion to cover up for lack of talent.

Every song he sings feels so personal. Yes, obviously to him, because of his experiences, but you can actually FEEL the pain in his voice. When artists sing about feelings and emotions that everybody feels, but most often can't put into words, it becomes so personal with/for the listener.

The rhythm, tempo, and volume hits in a way that probably provides a gauge to regulate how much chest breathe to hit his vocals with... I just noticed this while singing along....

Love his voice! If you like more folksy blue grass but with similar raspiness and soul, I would recommend Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. Their album “The Future” has some great songs and they have two tiny desk concerts that are amazing

I apologize ahead of saying that you look like you should have a cigarette after this. Great review for an impressive talent.

I absolutely love Nathanial Rateliff and the Night Sweats! They deserve all the praise and recognition. I will forever be obsessed with bluesy raspy, I smoke and drink whiskey all day type of voices. They break me.

I didn’t think of it till you did the hand gesture. But this song is a storm of waves 🌊 that crash into the shore. And then it just passes on his last line and it’s calm again.

I first heard the song on the radio. Of course I had to know immediately who was singing the song. I love a voice like that when someone sings. 😍 His voice is simply awesome. And I think the song is simply brilliant. I hope you understand what I mean/wrote. English is not my middle language. Have a nice day everyone. 😊🍀

For that Soul, R&B feel, I highly recommend St Paul and the Broken Bones. Especially, Grass Is Greener, Call Me, Don't Mean A Thing and Pocket Change.
