Male or female, if we live long enough we all eventually feel loss. The best that we can hope for is for it to be at the end of a long fulfilling life. Eventually there will come another day when you can smile, and eventually one where you can laugh and love again as you once did. Every woman makes you a different person, and it is the same for them. No one in a relationship is unchanged, and that is the thing to remember and look forward to.

I had just watched the video you're using from Mr. Swims after sampling a few other versions of this song. His was the first that got me from the intro to the the very last note. And I was in tears from an 'empathy' that he stirred up inside. Seeing your video next to his on the list I thought, "Oh this will be fun." I loved your analysis. It helped me to understand why I was so moved. As you said, it's as if the song was written for him. I'm going to find more by this artist. Since you asked for recommendations for other singers to analyze... it goes back quite a few years, but if you could find and listen to Jennifer Warnes doing "Prairie Melancholy" it would thrill me to no end. Teddy Swims does so many covers well - I really like his cover of Billie Eilish's "idontwannabeyouanymore" - a Teddy Bear is one of the Merch options on his website - he is an endearing person, warm and gentle; as someone below suggested, his cover of Chris Stapleton's Tennessee Whiskey is pretty awesome. Do you ever listen to pieces that don't feature a vocalist? I was thinking of Tina S - her guitar version of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or Steve Vai's "For the Love of God". Even if you didn't react to them, I think you would love seeing her in action at around 16 yrs of age - for your own viewing and listening pleasure.
