My pup is very energetic and friendly she loves everyone but so much no one wants her around cuz she jumps on etc even though she is only 8lbs … I’ve been trying to get her to sit before we pet her and she has to remain sitting we keep petting her in the sitting position until she calms down somewhat then release her and then back into sit if she’s still to excited.. seems to be working..what a blow to have such a beautiful puppy that loves everyone so much but they don’t want her around.. I never had a dog like that so it was new to me.. while searching through videos etc for a solution for her saw the sit and pet process.. can’t wait to try this out in public.. she’s doing so well.. also got a bed like the one you have and I’m going to train her as you have shown in this video as well.

So simple and yet totally effective. Our zoomy, energetic wild pup has become increasingly calm and a pleasure to have in the house. Using these games we were even able to take our 8 month Quincy to my elderly mother-in-law and he was amazing. We took his rug and he automatically plonked himself on it all ready for boundary games .. I would highly recommend absolutedogs to all dog owners!

I really want to do this type of training with my dog but she is simply not motivated by kibble type for food. If I used sausage or similar she'll get massive. Any tips on how to get that sort of reaction from a dogs normal food rather than treat food?

Ditch the bowl! When we don’t passively feed our dog, she is very interested in earning her food from games and interacting.

What food do you feed your dog? My dog will search for chicken or strong smelling treats but not so much for her normal kibble.

Quick question ... my 8 m.o. pupster doesn't seem.to use her nose to search out food when scattered. She is a rottweiler (her older sister is 18 m.o. rottie who has no problem with scent work!). Do you have any tips to help Rhea or is it just practice practice practice? TIA 😀🐾

Maybe try hand feeding and having your dog follow the food in your hand, or do some aeroplane feeding. Once he's enjoying that you could pop the food on the floor just as he's about to eat it. When that's successful you could try gently rolling is or having your dog follow the food and you gently drop it down nearby. Build this up and I am pretty sure in no time your dog will start looking for the food. Then true food scattering can begin! Perhaps scatter/play on a hard surface (ie inside or on a tiled or cement surface) somewhat the food is easier to see. Xx

My dog will eat everything and is incredibly food motivated to the point he will steal food if it’s left out. I worry about him eating something poisonous. I can see the benefits if scatter feeding but I’m not sure I want my dog to just eat off the ground (for the reasons above).

How can u teach boundary games when all my dog wants to do is chew her bed up?
@trainingmypuppy97993 жыл бұрын
My puppy chews her bed too, but I find she is OK if I use a towel or blanket for the boundary

Hey! A Boundary can be anything from a crate, to a bed or even a blanket as commented ! You name it, we call it a boundary, work with different areas and see how you get on!

Get a Kong or another chew toy, stuff it with food and tie it to the bed on a string. The dog is gonna chew the the toy and get autorewarded for laying calmly on or around the bed, chewing on the toy and not furniture.
