I can relate to NL's story about fall-out with family. We don't talk to my grandma, on my mothers side, and haven't for about 15 years. My uncle was also a part of the fall-out, but I contacted him about 5 years ago, because my mom missed him. Now he's a part of our lives again, without my grandma knowing. Don't know why I'm sharing this... maybe it's for people who has a hard time letting go of family, because they're family. It's okay to say: "I don't care if we're blood related, you have been a garbage person to me, and I don't owe you anything."

On the topic of smoke-breaks in high schools: My school didn't have a clear system for smoking students, but two friends and I got to be the ones to figure it out. It turned out if you were an 18yo student and also smoked, you were permitted to go for smoke breaks sort of whenever you wanted. I personally pretended to smoke just so I could leave the property and get McDonald's for lunch. So, there was no designated smoker-spot, but smokers got a weird perk that nobody else got so I pretended to smoke to abuse it. The end. (Ps. Now I smoke for real, smoking is better when you only pretend to do it. lul)

Think about it this way; If you already knew everything about how to approach the puzzle but didn't know the specific solution, could you still be expected to do it flawlessly? Nah. Ftr it being a bad puzzle doesn't mean it's wrong to include, because it can still be fun. Minesweeper is a bad puzzle but it's a fun game anyway.

I love when they talk about "The Algorithm" for solving a rubiks cube like there's one set of moves you can do in 30 seconds to solve it every time. I learned to do it like 5 years ago and I haven't come close to 30 seconds lol

I think NL was implying that it takes 30 seconds learn i.e. there isn't anything to actually learn you just have to follow the instructions. I think the cooking analogy sums its up perfectly to be honest, just follow the steps and the cube will be solved.

This is coming from someone that's never solved a rubiks cube so take it with a big ol grain of salt. Also probably takes incredibly well practiced hand motions and quick basic analysis but not really any thinking.

I can do all sides of a rubix cube except the bottom. Learned a technique from a book when I was young. The bottom will be one of 7 patterns at the end and then you have to do a specific sequence for that and I never memorized it.

Sounds like you were learning an intermediate method, for the beginners method I learned it doesn't really matter what the bottom looks like. Say you do yellow last, you use an algorithm to get the yellow mid pieces to face the yellow side, another one to get them to the right edges, a third one to get the corners to the right spots and the last one to orient the corners - no need to memorize specific strategies for a variety of patterns.

The point ~26 minutes in where NL is on the rotating platform and the camera doesn't maintain it's position behind the character as it rotates but ALSO doesn't seem to stay stationary as the character rotates.... I can't tell if NL is just making it appear worse than it actually is or if that may be the single worst camera design decision I've ever seen by a pretty huge margin. I don't generally get nauseous playing or watching any games but my god that section it's basically instantaneous.
