You should do a little old fashioned researching at the Library and copy some 1900's maps of your area to locate where factories were located on the rivers and where really old bridges used to be but are no longer there.

Three of their items were parts of old door locks. The old house which I grew up in had a huge iron lock and the key was about 4-5 inches long!!!! The door bell was round and fit flush to the middle of the front door. You turned the key in the middle of it and it rang! (Wish I had those now.) the light switches were all push buttons.

@ 14:17, what looks like twisted metal, kinda like someone twisted old metal coat hangers together, could possibly be an old antique rug beater. (Before wall to wall carpeting and vacuums, people had throw rugs, they'd take them.out to the clothesline and literally beat them with...well..rug beaters. I know, because my great grandma made me do this chore when I was a kid. Great way to get your frustrations out! 🤣, they're worth money.

Shakespeare fishing rods were made in Kalamazoo Michigan. In 1896 William Shakespeare Jr wanted to improve on existing fishing reels so he came up with a device for winding fishing line evenly back on the spool. He patented the level-wind reel and his new design was superior to anything on the market. The Shakespeare Ugly Stik GX2 is great for anyone getting into freshwater fishing. The value and durability for the price are unbeatable.

Like always, a ton of bicycles. Like you said, probably stolen and thrown into river. Seen those Logging Hooks on your channel before, at least similar to that one. They still make those single egg pans, I have at least one in the kitchen. 2 person saw, nice. 1950's or 1960's wheelbarrow, have a Barn Find of one so I know that is what it is. Rather old Door Latch/locks y'all keep finding. So nice watching what y'all pull up, love your videos.

You and Alex both found "external" door latches. The one you found appears to also have a lock on it. We used to have that type of latch on a few of our doors. If you can clean them up and make them work, they're probably worth a bit of cash.

Pretty sure the thing with the star is a mortise door latch for old timey door knobs. The door knob would have a threaded "stick" that slides into that square hole on the box with the star, then the other knob would screw onto the other side to the door's width/thickness. Some Baldwin locks made today are similar.

That little cast iron pan can be purchased today around the holidays in most Walmart stores, K-Mart, etc. They come now with a cookie mix so that you can bake a single-servicing cookie for yourself. I have bought two of them in the past. The cookies aren't all that to write home about, but you still have a small cast iron pan for single service eggs!!

Here's an alternate explanation to other comments, for the 'one-egg pan'. It could have been used to melt chunks of lead, and then the melted lead poured into molds to make fishing sinkers. My dad used to do that. Its thickness and its cast-iron metal suggests that usage, more than it suggests cooking eggs or baking cookies, which likely would be thinner metal. Just a guess based on the old days.

Back in the late 1960's and 70's kids would build wooden rafts to take rides on. Sometimes they would take their bikes and skateboards with them as they had no where to store them. Then a big boat would come by and swamp the raft and send the bikes overboard.

You also have to remember that when there's been spring thaws. That there's been ice jams & heavy down pouring storms water levels can over the shorelines or banks. Can you imagine the water pressure that lifts stuff off the bottom & deposits on the banks of the river. Then when there is severe flooding that will lift stuff out of yards & carry stuff miles & miles of river.

Not the stuff you can restore, but things that look cool but can't be used anymore or isn't collectible. I don't have an example, but it was just thought since you pull up some random interesting stuff sometimes. small pans like than, could be used to melt lead as old time calk. The square piece that Alex has is an old door lock, and the square old is for the door knob (Not a key hole). I have some in my house. Taken apart and cleaned up, could dell, but probably not worth effort. A lot of those case iron plates (with hooks) are probably off an old stove.

A lot of what you guys find may have entered the water 20 miles upstream from where you are finding it. Always realize the power of water as in a fast moving river, flood waters when in water is high after a heavy rain or storm. If floods can move cars, trucks, then, those bikes and such were no match to just being in one place back in the day. Wild current, submerged logs, trees can quickly move tons of debris.
