Lethal Weapon (1987) With over seven minutes of previously unavailable scenes. Riggs's solitary homelife and the tragic loss spurring him in a reckless disregard for his own safety now come into greater focus. We see that recklessness is new scenes underlining the differences between the two cops. Murtaugh, just 50, needs reassurance about his skills at a firing range. Riggs, not caring if he sees another birthday, coolly walks into a schoolyard sniper's field of fire. All the humor and adrenaline that made this original an entertainment milestone are here, too. No scenes have been removed. But new action and new insight are now included. Include yourself in the excitement. Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) Riggs wows the pretties of a hotel spa before getting to Getz. Murtaugh receives bad bodywork news from an auto repairman after his beleaguered station wagon sees some Riggs-piloted street action. Plus, feisty Leo shares a newly included scene in which he recalls a suspect's address by complex spins of numbers that, well, no one can tell it like Leo. And no one would follow his lead but Riggs and Murtaugh. It's police procedure, Lethal style. And it's yours to enjoy as the duo draws a bead on criminals hiding behind diplomatic immunity. Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) Riggs and Murtaugh are back again. This time, they must stop a former cop who has become an arms dealer to L.A. street gangs. Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as buddy cops Riggs and Murtaugh, with Joe Pesci riding comedy shotgun as chatterbox Leo. Murtaugh is still the family man. Riggs is still the gonzo loose cannon and - what's this? - family man. His will-he/won't he marriage to Cole (Rene Russo) is one of the new wrinkles in this powerhouse crowd-pleaser that also stars comedy favorite Chris Rock and international action star Jet Li. This sequel involves an action packed battle with a Chinese ganglord.

It appears as this is the same master as the UK set, so it is a step above the previous release here in the U.S. for the first and second movie.

4 Looks and sounds the best, 3 is pretty close, 1&2 aren't reference quality but they are a step up from the previous release it appears to be the same master as the release from the UK.

It's been sad watching Mel Gibson lose it. Kid's there used to be another Mel Gibson, one that took on different types of roles when Hollywood had ideas. Checkout: The Year of Living Dangerously-The Bounty-Mrs. Soffel. The Lethal Weapon Movie's were great as well. Also, Absolutesublime1 is there anyway that in future videos you can tell us what the quality is like. Cause as we all know, just because it's on BLU-RAY doesn't mean the quality is gonna be better than the DVD.

A lot of people slate the 3rd film for it's slapstick approach, but i think the film still has it's intensity, (Funeral Scene) which is a very dramatic scene and i believe overall one of the best non fighting scenes in the entire franchise, done very well

Nice pickup - The first 2 movie are the best to me -the chemistry between Gibson & Glover was outstanding - didn't like 3 as much - 4 - was actually pretty good - Jet Li made a great villain:)!!!

I really loved the 4th one a lot too, the third one was the only one that I didn't love, but it was still watchable. Definitely one of the best buddy cop movies. This is probably the best time to upgrade to blu, prices have gone down drastically, and places like walmart always have decent titles at $5-$8

You should check out Lethal Weapon 4, it has a lot of comedic value as well as some romance too so it levels out the action sequences, and it is just a lot of fun overall, I think you might enjoy that one.

The Director's Cut for the first one adds about 15 minutes or so... it really fleshes out Riggs with him going into the line of fire of a sniper to save kids, and it shows him picking up a hooker not to "hook up" but to watch the Stooges. There are other scenes here and there like both cops getting ready for the morning etc. I believe, though, it shows the entire scene where Riggs tries to kill himself. As far as 2 & 3 are concerned it adds 5 minutes or less for each of them.

I remember The Year of Living Dangerously being really good but it's been ages since I've seen it, I need to revisit it. The pq is slightly above average on the first two but nothing mindblowing, I don't think it will ever look much better than it does now, the audio is much better though, but I know a lot of people wanted to director's cuts too, seems to be the one thing the set lacks. The 4th looks the best pq wise.

Don't get me wrong I like vhs but I am loving blu ray, and it isn't completely cleaned up so it does still have some natural grain to it. 4 Is really enjoyable, and probably the most entertaining overall, lots of great comedic value, great villain and cast. Thanks, you rock!

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover both said they were not interested in making a fifth one, but also Warner Bros wants to make a reboot with a all new cast with the same old characters which i personally think is a very bad idea.

Probably not. Danny Glover and Mel Gibson are just a bit too old to be playing Murtaugh and Riggs. Unless they do a story that both of them are retired and are miraculously brought back into the force for a new assignment, I don't see a new one being made.

TheCriticBoxReviews Well they are working on another Ghostbusters movie, really what it comes down to is money, if they money is there they'll make the movie. Although Mel Gibson might not take the role since he is more accomplished at this point in his career.

I see from the back that these are not the Director's Cut of the first three movies. Very Sad and very poor choice on WB's part. I WILL NOT be buying this until the DC's are available on blu ray.

Nice unboxing but here is an error in the description above. It says Lethal Weapon is the Directors Cut. Only the Theatrical cut is in this set. The extra scenes are in the extras section.

Lethal Weapon (1987) is easily one of my favourite action movies it might be my favourite action movie of all time i wanted a Christmas action I couldn't find one so I check out die hard unfortunately I didn't like it so I found lethal weapon then I fell in love with that movie it was just pure awesomeness then I check out Lethal Weapon 2 it's hard to believe lighting strike twice lethal weapon 2 was great obviously not as masterpiece as the first but still a fantastic sequel them came Lethal Weapon 3 which was really really good I love as much as lethal weapon 2 it's not as strong as the first two but still pretty damn good then came the 4th one I didn't like it I thought it kind of sucked it was so stupid it missed out one thing from the first 3 it's the secret lethal weapon like from characters villains and action and fast and slow moments it like that feeling of lethal weapon but that's my opinion I'm not sure if lethal weapon 5 will happen but doubt it and the blu Ray that you does it have deleted scenes in the movies so makes it longer and nothing is cut out right?? Because I got director cut for 3 movies but 2 it cuts out 2 scenes does blu Ray version have all the scenes?? The Lethal Weapon series is awesome! Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 are 2 of my top 10 movies of all time. The third one is meh, but the 4th one was surprisingly very good. Is the picture quality that good? WB is usually a very good DVD producer. Go Murtaugh! :)

+Amiga Wolf The Director's Cuts are not true Director's Cuts. Richard Donner did not approve these, Warner simply reinstated the deleted scenes and marketed them as such. With this in mind, I prefer the theatrical versions. Also the quality audio and video wise is better on the blu-ray set and it has more special features so no it is not; "cheap, and bad" but the dvd collection indeed is.
