Have you ever painted the characters as the negative area and left the background in colors and patterns?

It could be done that way as well. I just prefer painting out the negative space around the forms.

Did anybody else notice the other face in the painting at the 6 min. 25 second mark ?!! It is orange , next to the shoulder on the right (when looking at the video).

Yes I see it - I don’t think it was obvious straight on. I didn’t notice it when I was painting anyway.

Patt I was wanting to buy your online workshop for the beginners cold wax and oil. You have it on sale for CAD97. If I purchase this do I just download it to my iPad? I do not have a computer. About how much time do you spend on the background and how much planning do you do for thbackround? Thank you 😊

I do not plan my backgrounds - they are started out by off loading my brush while painting and using up leftover paint at the end of a painting session. I may do stamps or stencils as I go or when I feel there is lots of paint but not much pattern. When I have a yummy background I look at it to see imagery or in this case I decided this gal suited the background. I always have lots of messy backgrounds to choose from.
