Always such a joy to watch you work Patt! This one is lovely and the ethereal quality of the dark background with the soft circles makes it especially so. Wishing you the best for the holiday season and looking forward to spending time with you in a class in 2024. ♥♥♥

Girls Night Out IS ONE IDEA. I JUST LOVE ALL YOUR LAYERS, I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT BEING SURE NOT TO LEAVE CANVAS TEXTURE BUT PAINT STROKES FOR THE AUDIENCE. I LIKE THAT IDEA AS WELL. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR PROCESS,
@pattscrivenerartist9 ай бұрын
Great idea!! I already used it though so this one became Night Life. I do not like seeing the canvas texture. A couple of coats of gesso eliminates it but I seldom bother!

I didn’t know you used chalk. It’s great. So much easier to get the form like you really want.😊
@pattscrivenerartist10 ай бұрын
Yes it is easy to white off - chalk pastel also works.
Thanks Patt. Watching this in bed and making a couple of notes on what I need to adjust in my ongoing painting. Always learn a lot from you! Cheers

Hello Marion. Thanks for your comment. Most things aren’t easy the first few times we try them! I hope you give it a try and let me know how it goes. 😊

I too love the bubbles in the background. Hey add life and festivity to the feeling. Learnt a lot about the girls bags and the legs this time too,Patt. Thank you so much. I would love to see some of your landscapes Patt. You have some on your site? I like the ones I can see on the right of this screen.Also, do you wipe off the last of the chalk that can be seen at the end? I have been wiping it off with a damp cloth.
@pattscrivenerartist10 ай бұрын
Thanks Jennifer. On the chalk - it depends, sometimes I leave some of it and seal it before top coating , other times I wipe it for. I will get back to landscapes after I find sh my solo show paintings. I have a few landscape videos on my channel On the cold wax and oil Play list. There is also this one on acrylic and texture. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGO0gJWrnZKDn6csi=bPTG5CA0IH1rPue8

Have had a short stay in hospital and now am watching your videos non stop to catch up It is cyclone weather here in north Australia so no actual painting Please to hear that layering is good I only started painting in my seventies { I am81 } and so layering is always a necessary option Love your classes

Patt, thank you for this delightful video. Did you wait for the paint to dry between layers, or could you continue to layer in one setting by working in different areas?
@pattscrivenerartist10 ай бұрын
Yes you can keep working on different parts of the painting while it dries. You can also work wet into wet if you use similar colours so you don’t end up with mud😉

What’s the acrylic brand name of transparent and solid paint?
@pattscrivenerartist10 ай бұрын
All brands will have opaque and transparent paint. Some brands put it on the label. I was using Golden and Amsterdam paints. This video explains more about it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqvYnWp7q7eLhrssi=Zyenw3mY-Ym0FrID
