I probably mentioned Alicia Tormey. She does encaustic but uses alcohol ink in her beautiful paintings. I learned so much from her.

I hope you try it. There are a number of devices you can use to blow ink, the bulb blower is probably the least expensive option. I love water colors but I don't have the patience. I think this would translate very well into a water color though! Have fun!

BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks! As an aside, I'm intrigued with your pronunciation of 'currant', as 'ker ONT'. Wondering if it's just in certain areas, states etc. Where I'm from in Canada, we say the name of this berry the same as for 'current', belonging to the present time. (I find the incredible differences in the spoken English language, with all the different accents etc to be so interesting. haha)

Hahaha! I use both pronunciations because I've heard it said both ways. I agree with you as to how interesting the differences are. My parents were from Germany and Yugoslavia and both German speakers. The difference in dialects and pronunciation always struck me as interesting.

Yes! I absolutely love using them with encaustic! It gets a bit tricky when you go to fuse the AI but it is so worth it.

Yes! I use India ink when I don’t want to activate the alcohol ink. I also use it for the very thin spidery areas because the alcohol ink tends to want to go wider than India ink.
