Abstract Painting with Acrylics

Abstract painting allows you to reach into your creative self and go wherever it tells you. This video explains some of the thoughts I had to do this painting. It really was a wide open door using a nice size 24 x 48 inch canvas, a heavy dose of textured gesso and a small sketch. I add some dialogue in certain parts providing insights into what I was thinking. As usual, creating art is an experiment for me. Some things work, others don't. This one turned out different than anything I've ever done, so that was good. Hope you enjoy. As of March 25 2022, the original and limited edition prints are for sale. Trish. This has to be Charlies' Trish. That's the only way you could make a bunch of panfish appear. And yes, I was playing hard rock when I painted this one but when you time lapse it takes out all the audio. I'd get dinged for copyright infringement anyway!

I love your abstracts. You always manage to choose such beautiful colour combinations and designs. Mine always feel forced.

Thanks Jon. I recently went to the paint dept at a big box home improvement store and grabbed a bunch of color swatches and interior design booklets. Hey, if my painting is going to hang in someone's house one day might as well use colors that compliment the walls.
