Abstract performance to celebrate Switzerland's rail opening - Daily Mail

The Swiss have put on one of the most bizarre opening ceremonies in history to mark the completion of the world's longest tunnel at a fairground in Erstfeld, in the north of the country. Famed for their trains, organisers roped in more than 600 dancers, acrobats and dramatic actors and even composed the new route's very own theme tune as they pulled out all the stops for Wednesday's inauguration. The upbeat, glitzy celebration included performers dressed in orange miners' suits and protective helmets dancing atop a moving rail car to the rhythm of pick-axes and construction machinery. Trapeze artists hung from chains or ropes, a band blared out a thumping military march and helicopters buzzed overhead as the ceremony strived to both thrill and offer a show of European solidarity. It also featured a baby with feathered white wings (pictured, right) and oversized head and a man dancing with a bird's nest on his head (top left). Music was provided by Alpine horn players, an army band and live choirs, and also even featured dancers in their underwear (bottom left).

Well.. it's edited. Short version of anything is hard to understand especially artists performance. To me first part looked like mountain shaking off people that tried to conquer it. Part with the goats I didn't get but, why it has to be satanic, I could just be dumb for these things. Also, maybe it's wildlife portion of the story. Then came people in orange again nailing those studds and dancing, posing in the air and behind them it looked like complex working mechanism and also a train wheel. It could represent their work on solving the problem. Then those three big headed man dols are I assume politicians or some real people. Watch at the end is well known in Switzerland and amongst watch lovers. I forgot how it really works but it has big history behind it. It corrects it self at certain time or maybe at every stop the train stops at and synchronises itself with one main clock. Competition was organised to make trains come and go on time and that watch (mechanism) won the award and was given to people working at Swiss railway or whatever it was called.. Its time for the first train to come. Train emerges from the tunnel. Applause.
