Abu 5000C fishing reel how to take apart and service

This video shows how to take apart and service an Abu Ambassadeur round bait casting fishing reel. This is an earlier "modern" version of the reel. It came in with a stuck free spool and failing anti-reverse. I use a step by step process to show you how to service the reels and correct these issues.

I try to encourage young fishers to appreciate classic reels. I'm fine if new technology actually works better but a reel like this Abu gives up little to a new reel.

La cuestión es que vivo en un país en el que no se consiguen fácilmente estos productos y necesito adquirir uno que realmente valga la pena en durabilidad y calidad. Hi Dennis, first let me say I highly appreciate the informative videos you provide to us. Videos are always straight to the point and easy to understand. Question if I may. I’m servicing a few Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000C reels that belonged to my grandfather and I’m trying to find the schematics for each one. I’m having trouble understanding which schematic is the correct one from the sources I’ve found. The schematic names read as “AMBASSADEUR 5000C (01-01)”…what do the numbers (01-01) mean in parentheses? Any help would greatly appreciated. -K
