Enjoyed this! Particularly the Dub / IDM demo and the Make Noise experiments. It has a lot in common with the original SDS-3 that I have but is more refined. For example, the "click" is called "impact" on the SDS-3 but does the same thing, but the pitch doubles up as the noise filter and the ranges don't line up well, so that you either have a very high pitched tone with good noise or a low pitched tone with noise that's too heavily filtered. Looks like they sorted that out with the later models like this. It also has the exact same white power switch too! The things that really make a difference on the original 3 are an LFO that goes into the audio range for all sorts of FM and a sample and hold (called "run") that creates variation in pitch over time. Seems that was no longer applicable by this point. Very interesting to see a breakdown of a later model because it's so familar, but Dave Simmons & co obviously got better at it with the SDS-V onwards. Thanks for doing this.

I was a bit disappointed at first that there is no pitch modulation of those but it’s a very fun machine anyway.

Yes indeed, it’s a good instrument for dub sound when you put a delay of it.

Why not just use the sequencer in?
@Stazma10 ай бұрын
There's no sequencer in this thing, it's suposed to played with pads. Check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIHQd3epqbd4nq8si=Eb5-BkQyxyyP-UmI
