Seems like a response to how Paimon was treated in Genshin, the west found the squeaky voice annoying, but the east doesn’t really care too much about it. So they just made it deep for the English voice.

That's a good point. I actually like Paimon overall but she just gets too much sometimes (her original tone was way better than whatever weird Brooklyn rasp she's got going on now lol)........I think it's worse in Wuwa (IMO) because Abby is so overly goofy when nothing else in the game is that goofy (I mean tambourine hitting monsters is pretty silly) so it doesn't seem to fit as well. I know it's common in Anime though so I guess I just need to get over the randomness of it lol

You got the traffic light, motorcycle, and CARapace echoes to add to the tambourine one. You have the weird physics on the characters that are female, and now we are getting a lute as a broadsword weapon. Anyway I like Abby's voice being deeper because of gives her character some bite. She's not just a stereotypical cutesy character. She's lazy and gluttonous, but loyal.

I guess what I meant is that in a dystopian setting, even though there are some silly things in the game, like the echoes, they still have a twisted vibe to them. ...so to all of a sudden have a cutesy rabbit creature be MC's internally fused TD or whatever just seems weird to me - but it seems like it's a common style in Chinese and Japanese games/anime? At the end of the day, it's a Chinese game so if they love this kind of stuff, then they have every right to make the game however they want for sure....I just find it jarring but maybe I'll get used to it (I hope ha)

One of, if not the, primary issue is they picked a UK based studio yet made all the actors try and put on American accents, which was not a good call. If you listen to Chixia’s echo activation line you can clearly hear her Scottish accent peak through.

I love EN Abby! no it's not annoying, the problem with paimon is, she's reapeating anyting, she talks for traveler, she talks too much with that voice. while this thing talk for itself, she doesnt talk for rover, we are talking the 3 of us. that is fun and entertaining, i can say this because i played genshin since launch. edit: the 4 of us, with Yangyang

​​@@vandam-jq6hwyeah.For me mascot must have their own persona and thinking process,and have good balance in portion of dialogue (especially voiced part) between them,not outright one side stealing their partner part in dialogue.This is what missing most of the time from Paimon and Traveler.Paimon is just like some flying mouthpiece for Traveler cause the story bullshieting their way to justified paimon yapping as Traveler too think the same way and it just happen before they could talk Paimon already do the talking.
